My pet peeve buzz word for a while has been "The Cloud".
I'll upload it to The Cloud, don't worry it's in The Cloud, these games are powered by The Cloud, etc.
It's not a cloud, it's a bunch of servers networked together accomplishing the same kinds of tasks that servers were doing twenty years ago. And there's not just one "Cloud" of these servers. There are tons of server clusters like that all over the world running the internet and online businesses. It's been like that since the inception of the internet. Integration with and networking between them has improved, but the core conceptual functionality is nothing new.
I guess "The Cloud" bugs me because the marketing term preys on the general mass ignorance of technophobic consumers at large AND THEY EAT IT RIGHT UP. /rant
