Do you know how heavy the bionic arm is? It's amazing Rad Spencer was a bad enough dude to be able to walk with it on at all! Now asking him to lift his foot up on a ledge, and then push his own body weight up plus the weight of the bionic arm upwards too, man that's just asking too much of one soldier.
Humor aside, they let him jump in the Rearmed 2 and it kind of ruined it. It's the limitation that makes the mechanic interesting in the first place. Sometimes less is more in game design.
I get the game isn't for everyone though and apparently it never caught on in Japan.
That being said, it wasn't much of a jump. The arm was still mostly the only viable means of conveyance.
My problems with ReArmed 2 were more with the level design in general. They felt a little too open and unfocused compared to the original and the remake.
I totally understand the less is more, it's why I don't complain much about it, I just don't play the series. I can see how a jump could ruin it, but I just felt those lame little knee high boxes were a bit much as there's plenty of overly high places to swing and pull up to is all.

Picross is where it's at. I'm guessing you mean Mario's Picross right? My first game in the series was the DS game and that made me search for the GB game to try it out. It was a good call!

It's like Prince of Persia controls and fluidity meets the Pitfall Mayan Adventure type layout, just without all the collectible garbage other than health packs and ammo.
Sounds neat. If I find it in the wild for a few bucks, I'll probably check it out.

Love this one. Grabbed it on the 3DS eShop too.
I'm on the Picross section, Star levels...and am hopelessly stuck. I just can't seem to grasp "advanced" Picross puzzle strategies yet. This version of the game punishes you HARD for mistakes, too...which I find makes it a bit demoralizing for a puzzler. I'm stuck about 22 levels in to the Star section...downloaded Picross-e for 3DS from the eShop in the interim...and same thing, stuck on the last few puzzles.
Bah. Long story short, apparently I suck at Picross.
Picross is the best. I love the games in that series, and with the exception of the 3DS digital-only titles, I have completed every one released in North America (i.e., Mario's Picross, Picross DS, and Picross 3D). Every one of them is great, but I agree that they punish you for mistakes and aren't for everyone.

When it clicks, you'll absolutely love it. I challenged myself quite a bit with the DS version, going with no hints at all on the hardest puzzles. It gets rough, because often there's only one move you can make, and you have to do a lot of logical inferences. And a lot of counting, seeing what can fit where. It's more important to know where the tiles aren't than where they are, honestly!
