My memory is spotty, but I recall some people talking about retro gaming on OLEDs.
Can OLEDs serve as CRT replacements? Even for retro gaming? Do they do things like scanlines?

Uhh no. AFAIK they're not that much different than LCDs for gaming.Mad_Hatter wrote:Do they do things like scanlines?

OLED displays have darker blacks than LCDs; OLEDs have a wider viewing angle than LCDs; OLEDs consume less electricity than LCDs.Mad_Hatter wrote:My memory is spotty, but I recall some people talking about retro gaming on OLEDs.

That said, neither LCDs nor OLEDs are designed for retro gaming. A high quality CRT is still the way to go for retro gaming.
