NHL 2014~15

Post by skyknight »

Looks like nobody post a thread for the current NHL season.

OK, I'll start with my Wild - I really hated the goalie situation that we have here, just a year ago, it looked good, but now this team is in a limbo with 3 goalies: one with MS, one is getting old, and the other that really needs to setup with the deal he got in Sept. Quite a far cry when the Wild was winning with trap defense and good goaltending, but I hope the New Year will give some time to reflect upon themselves.

A new NHL team in Vegas, anyone here up for that? I am skeptic that Las Vegas can support a professional team in the long-run (would betting the odds be much funner than watch a game that you cannot bet on?), I would rather see a new team in Quebec City (a new arena is almost done), Toronto, or Seattle. But so far the potential owners with really deep pockets are in Vegas.

So far the team that has got me by surprise are Islanders, just add several good players (G Halak, D Leddy and Boychuck) and this is the result!?

Fellow Wild fan here. Kuemper is just not NHL material, Backstrom is beyond washed up, and getting anything productive from Harding at this point is a pipe dream. They have SUCH a talented roster, a great mix of established vets and young talent... and nobody in net. I don't know what they do at this point. Can they trade for Niemi maybe?

I think the most likely way out is to either give up a piece of the future, or take-in a toxic asset (overloaded player contract). As much I hate to see it, its pretty much ride or die with Kuemper for the Wild as this point, hopefully the short holiday break gives everyone some time to reflect to prepare on what's ahead.

Seriously, how is Mike Yeo not fired yet? The Wild are toast

I wouldn't put all the blame on Yeo, as there are plenty of mess to go around: the mumps that took out the top d-line, the inconsistency of the wingers and goalies (especially after they got their extended contract!). In terms of advance stats, the Wild is doing good, but I do say goalie is the biggest issue right now.

And I do not see any benefits of firing Yeo at this moment, for one whom will you replace him with, if so how will the Wild get back to playoff contention with the last 40 games? The same can be said for the Bruins, if they miss the playoffs this year, do you clean out the house from top to bottom?

Hawks acquired Timonen from the Flyers, and with Kane out, I'm glad we snagged him.

Well, the real winners of the trading deadline are the ones holding the cup at the end.

I say the Wild should limit their trading pattern - no 2nd rd pick for the next few years.

Given the turn around after the new year, I say the Wild sure turned the ship around, but they will have to play at consistent level for the last 10+ games. I say they make the playoffs.

The "foot in the crease" rule needs to come back. Why is there even a crease if it means nothing?

so i've been following the preds off and on this year. im not a big hockey fan but like to follow them since they're local. they go from the hottest team in the league to can't beat a team playing backups and may get swept with home ice in the first round. something just isn't clicking or they are just run down. oh well, they're wasn't much excitement in the city when they were on top so maybe no one will notice lol.
