12 gig ps3 HID?

I know it will be neutered when it comes to most games, but my question is will a 12 gig PS3 handle HID? I had someone offer me one for a stupid low price, that is why I am considering it.

I mean, in general, PS3 HDDs aren't anything special. For the 12GB you need to buy a bracket too, but you can put most 2.5" SATA drives in there. So if it's a good enough deal, might as well try, and if it doesn't pan out you could put a 500GB drive in it for less than a new release game.

HID = Human Interface Device, not HDD. The bigger PS3s support HID connections so you can use USB joysticks and controllers on them. However, Sony is known for dropping features.

Aye, I'm familiar with that HID meaning, just wasn't sure. I haven't heard of any change in accessory support between PS3 models. Sony did drop support for it on the PS4.
