Citing sources automatically makes you correct in every debate, don't you know? The quality of the sources' data, or the authenticity of the sources' source, such things are of little consequence. Once a source has been cited, simply accept your defeat and don't be an insufferable twat about it gosh.Luke wrote:Seriously, did you make that graph as a joke or did you really post that as some sort of proof?

Please stop using that term. Ever since that time Luke called my 80 year old Grandma one for using the term "common courtesy" it is a trigger for me.

You forget Dave, Luke doesn't need sources, studies, or even science to back him up. Stuff is the way it is because he says so, damn it! Isnt that enough?

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Dave and I are having fun, as there is no debate to be had.
I mean, just look at that laughable graph. It suggests that people may just might sit fifty feet away from their one hundred and twenty two in tv. With that in mind, the graph actually says "benefit starts to become noticeable".
That wording is so odd. It doesn't describe what the "benefit" is, nor does it say what the starting point is.
I'm tempted to make a graph of Dave's wiener, and how close you have to get to it for it to "start to be beneficial". Even if Dave's penis is 122", you couldn't tell if it starts to be beneficial from 50' away.
Your eyes are finite in visibility. Period, point blank. "TV Technology" doesn't make shitty movies any better or more enjoyable just as better "graphics" doesn't make for a better video game. Hell if I'm going to tell you what to spend you hard earned dollars on, but if you think higher resolution is worth it, buy it. There's a sucker born every minute.
And I am cut from a different cloth, and I also think the resolution on my 1998 Sharp tv is dandy. All I'm saying is that your eyes have limits and people are paying stupid amounts of money for a difference they CAN NOT SEE. Want the science? Google "Resolution Idiots Maddox". It's informative and funny, and shows why people pay for things that don't exist within our biological capabilities.

I kid.
Dave actually said something close to "My source is the first thing that came up on Google".
If I have a source, it won't be from a buzzfeed article.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
So you are saying there is no benefit from HD now from your 98 tv?
Actually sitting that far away and screen size of 100+" would be referring to projectors and such, which if one were to make a private home theater, would be a consideration.

Do some research on the megapixel resolution of the human eye in contrast to modern technological ones when you're bored.

Yup, that is what me's be sayings.Jmustang1968 wrote:So you are saying there is no benefit from HD now from your 98 tv?
"Benefit" is subjective. Really subjective too when it isn't quantifiable.
