When I said the combat is slow and inaccurate, I wasn't referring to the invisible dice rolls behind the action. I'm talking about animation frames versus player action intent, along with sloppy hit box detection, that sort of thing.

The truth is I thought SoM was a better game than it was because (A) the presentation was (still is) excellent and (B) I had not played other better SNES action-RPGs at that time yet.

Also old man veteran gamer mmkay thanks. :?

Only beat this game once, and that was with my brother MANY years ago.

I played Secret of Mana for the first time in early 2014. I am a RPG fanatic and I have never played this game before, so I had to remedy this situation.

I literally could not stop playing Secret of Mana. I would find reasons to play it every single day while my other games would get overlooked. By the time I finished the game, it was such a wonderful experience and was my favorite game I played in 2014.

I loved the music, the graphics, the battle system and the characters in the game. I never leveled up my magic to max levels, so I still have a reason to play it again.

I would highly suggest it to anybody. It is a fantastic experience and a must play for any fan of RPG's.

Just got the axe and beat the second boss.
My only complaints so far is the hit detection for flying enemies and when buying weapons/armour you can't compare stats at that time.

To be fair, the instruction book has the stats listed

I'm playing the Japanese cart being translated by the Retron 5. I did print out a copy... but dag I hate having to look to see what I have equipped, then look to see what is being sold and then look to compare the stats. It's not game breaking, but it is annoying to me.

So how does multiplayer work here? Is it strictly combat? Will my player 2 be sitting around bored with a thumb up their ass when we aren't in battle?

Your partner needs to move around his character constantly, as the screen won't scroll unless everyone is together.

Ah, that works for me! I'm glad its like that.

If I get around to playing this, I'll get the lady to play it with me. She just doesn't know it yet.

Thanks Popo.
