Help me find the name of a top down view beat em up.

I'm trying to hunt down a top down view beat em up that I played once as a kid at 711. I can pretty much remember only the beginning of the game, but it started out with your character hiding in a garbage can. He watches something bad happen (Either someone is kidnapped and tossed into a car or someone is shot and the bad guys drive off) He then jumps out the gabarge can and proceeds to kick ass down the alley ways and the streets.


That is all I can remember though. Does this ring a bell to anyone? At all?

I played the game you are talking about once in a dorm about 15 years ago. I never caught the title... sorry... I know, I'm not much help.

The fact that you know what I'm talking about is a huge help actually. Do you remember any other details of the game?


I swear the intro of it before you started playing also had something to do with boxers and someone was paid to fix the fight or something.

what kind of graphics?

Graphics were a cross between Ikari Warriors 1 and 3 and maybe Commando.

Also, I believe the arcade cabinet itself had the hero kicking a bunch of oil cans on some bad guys.

I remember it being two player. You had a punch and a kick button (maybe even a jump). You could pick up weapons. It was pretty difficult. I think I remember seeing the Taito seal on the cabinet.
