Watermelon Pier Solar HD Kickstarter
Re: Watermelon Pier Solar HD Kickstarter
I haven't heard any updates in awhile. Do you guys think it's still worth just now preordering a genesis or dreamcast copy?

According to their website, they are soon to be in a testing phase for the Dreamcast version.
(http://magicalgamefactory.com/en/boards ... /?from=140)
These folks don't post a lot about where they're at in the process (and when they do it's scattered across several different channels) and it's easy to be confused about where they're at.
They are missing their projected release dates by a very long time. It's hard to really speculate when this game will come out. Even the company hasn't spoke of a new release date since they missed their last one in March.
That said, if you want this game on Dreamcast it is in your interest to order it now. You're just as likely to wait around forever on a re-release of it. If you just want to play the game - there are plenty of other (cheaper) methods to do so.

I don't trust them at all. I saw GoG had a big 1/2 off sale on the game so I grabbed it. So far over two plays I'm up to the Oasis and having to slog some beatings at the canyon opening to level up.
The game is in bad need of a good picture based guide, and I can tell they intended it by some of the confusing design elements too, and yet that's grossly delayed as well.
Also I've noticed some bugs on the PC version or it's a bitch with the 360 controller in Windows as it randomly just here and there drops control and almost never would work on the watermelon round up and it would stop so I went with using the keyboard on that one.

Is it possible this game is going to get a price drop for the Genesis cart version? $70 is simply ridiculous IMO. Seems like a game I will never play if it retains it's value and they never release a ROM.
The HD version's clashing pixel and hand-drawn HD art looks... bad... to me. Enough to want to play the Genesis version instead, if I had to pick.

Why not just buy it on GoG for $15 (or less on sale, I got it at 1/2 off?)
That version you can run the Genesis copy of the game through the settings or the HD version, your choice, and since GoG allows downloads you can save a physical copy of it. I get you may want a real Genesis cart (I know I would) but if the price is that crappy to you (and it is to me too) why not just settle on another physical version instead. I was much happier at $7.50 than $70+.

Watermelon are literally the shittiest company ever. My cat could run a better fucking business than them.
Their website has been down for 5 days now... It states that they'll "be back in a few hours" lol. They also said the game would be shipping last week and that we'd received emails requesting our shipping addresses. Did that happen? Did it fuck.
Only paid for this game (Pier Solar Dreamcast edition) like 2 years ago.
I wouldn't care if the weren't such bullshit liars and shady as fuck.

Well if your raging is that accurate it sounds like they're running the same piss poor business model as that crook in Santee CA that runs Super Fighter Team that put out Nightmare Busters. How long was it that it took them to get around to release it after I forget how many delays? Then when the product arrived it was of cheap quality and the board inside is fairly barren and super cheaply built. They infuriated a lot of people with that one due to the delays, higher price, crap email conversation returns, etc.

Re: Watermelon Pier Solar HD Kickstarter
I asked WM for my $ back on my DC preorder last year. They refunded me within 24 hrs. Maybe y'all should try the same?
Re: Watermelon Pier Solar HD Kickstarterpp
I've also had only the best experiences with Watermelon.
Sounds like some kid has sand in his vagins over $70.
I'm sure that now you've necrobumped a Watermelon thread from three years ago you'll get your money back. Grow up and stop whining like a little bitch. I wonder... Do you think if you acted like a reasonable person and kindly requested your money back Watermelon would stiff you!?
I wonder how many forums your bitching about this on. Ever think about how hard it is to be a startup game company in todays market? You know what it's like keeping company websites like theirs going while making games on the side, while also having real jobs and families? Watermelon has always delivered. They produce impeccable games represent the best 16 bit games in this era in gaming. I stand with Watermelon 100%

Re: Watermelon Pier Solar HD Kickstarter
I never played a WM game. Was just saying I got a refund when requested.
