I was flipping through the various rewards on my account page and my favorite so far is the cookbook.

Wasn't one I supported either, as I've paid for a few Kickstarters and the only one that's actually resulted in a product on my doorstep, so far, has been Frank Cho's book.

Even so, it looks like it could be interesting, but so does Divinity Original Sin (and others) that I haven't picked up either. Have other games I'm playing, and intend on more FFXI this year too, given the state of that.

I'm still kicking myself for not getting Divinity OS last year. I had it on my wishlist since release, but always got sidetracked by something else. Now I feel like there's already several RPG's out or soon out for 2015 that I'll want to check out first as well. This one, and Sword Coast Legends come to immediate my mind.

So I'm on my third character, as I'm playing the Path of Iron and managed to bite off more than I could chew twice with my Paladin. Now I'm rocking a Monk and the DPS is so much higher. Of course, I'm so much more fragile, but that's what my tanks are going to be for. I just picked up a couple of party members, one Fighter and one Wizard. The game definitely takes a ton of queues from Baldur's Gate 2, including the way you pick from areas on the world map. But there's a lot of added usability from 20 years of learning in UI design. And the game definitely lets you get in over your head; turns out solo level 2 characters can't take on bears.

I am doing a Normal difficulty run. I may look into more aggressive difficulties on a subsequent play through.

So far it is amazing. The game takes tons of obvious queues from the BG/IWD games but with a modern touch. Combat is more fun and so far the writing is superb. This is the kind of game I have been waiting to be released again.

Oh yeah, that bear kicked my ass as well and has kind of become a mini-meme on twitter last night.
