I'm still weirded out that you people go to stores. Much easier to buy online and have it delivered to your door; don't have to deal with traffic, the damn kids skateboarding on the sidewalk, or interact with people face to face.

Go where the deals are. Sometimes GameStop (and brick-and-mortar in general) has pretty good deals. Shocking, I know.

Plus, some of us do like to get out from time to time! ;) (Or furthermore, are already out anyway for our jobs.)

The few times I thought I was getting a good deal at a GameStop, it turned out the game was missing its case, manual, or was just scratched to hell when I got there. That's my personal experience with those deals. You can probably find good stuff here and there at flea markets and pawn shops though. If you want to make a Saturday out of that sort of thing I understand.

I've never had luck with serendipity though, as I'm usually targeting specific games. So the gas money and time expenditure it takes to go buy a game cancels out the few bucks I might have saved by not ordering it online. I agree with MrPopo, the convenience is worth the extra cost.

I'll admit I miss the "whoa!" feeling of finding an underpriced gem buried in a bargain bin pile. But given the advent of online price checking that thing happens a lot less often now I'm sure.

No shipping charges.

Plus I need to get out. I get mad cabin fever. Especially in this weather.

My daughter loves shopping now too.

Been months since I've been to GameStop though. I've been purchasing most of my 8th gen stuff at Target.

I should swing by GS sometime during the next couple of weeks. I hope CGSG (Cute GameStop Girl) still works there.

I buy shelf copies all the time they usually discount them really heavily when they get down to their last copy. Just make sure they give you the manual and everything. I always check out the Special/Collector's Edition stuff at game stop because of this. Currently all the gamestops around here have a bunch of DarkSouls II, Diablo III, Southpark: Stick of Truth, and CoD Ghosts collector's editions that they are trying to sell off but they haven't dropped the prices enough for me to be interested though.

I'm only a couple of miles from my GameStop, it's near work, so time / gas doesn't factor much. Plus, yeah, cabin fever hits sometimes. Gotta get out and do something, combat those hermit tendencies I can get from time to time! ;)

I do have a decent amount of luck finding complete copies of stuff. While you will find a lot of copies scratched up or without case and manual, there's other times where I've bought stuff that looks brand new. Not to mention the times I actually buy new. Really, it's the only game in town outside of Walmart, and let me tell you, for all the guff that GS gets, Walmart is so, so much worse.

I still have yet to figure out why Best Buy has a decent reputation. I almost never find anything there. :(

Good for you to stand your ground. An even swap for the opened game that was missing the DLC?

I avoid Gamestop like a plague on weekends and even Friday afternoons, the store is way too crowded. I usually try to go on the weekday mornings, best time is right when they open or before going to lunch. BookOff has proven better deals for me with most in CIB pristine condition. However, I still find Wii games worth the hunt to get a CIB used on the cheap at Gamestop. Especially certain Special Editions which fall under the same SKU as standard edition. Also New games restickered as used, most are a drop in price.

I'm curious CRT, what exactly do you plan on doing with a used Wii Speak? Is it just for collector's sake?

Its still plugged in though not of any use.

I bought it back then when it was only a few bucks, the novelty of having it. Not a big online gamer and do not care for the negative side of trash talk of the microphone/headphone. Even so, I obtained the installer from Nintendo just to get the Wii Speak to work. Still in a disappointed wonder that a simple microphone requires DLC to work in a console! :?

I was thinking the Wii Speak might come in handy at a later date for voice activated games possibly along the lines of Seaman. Maybe undocumented modes in games such as Mario Party levels that might also utilize the Wii Speak?
