I hadn't heard of this until Gamerforlife brought it up recently in the Donkey Kong clones thread. I just did a quick credit-feed win. I didn't count, but it was probably about 20 credits with more than half of those on the final boss. There are 5 levels to each stage, and 5 stages. Every 5th level is a boss fight.

The game plays a lot like Bubble Bobble, but it's darker and has better graphics. You shoot fire from a lantern and you have to shoot enemies enough times that they ignite into a fireball, which you can then careening through the remaining baddies. It's one of those easy to pick up, difficult to master kind of games. I might return to it since it was fun and this is a game where it would be more satisfying to get a 1CC. Those bosses are tough though.

Whoever started that Donkey Kong thread is sexy.

I had never heard of that Neo game either. Is it a homebrew?

Naw, it's a legit SNK production - MVS only, though. Some of the most brilliant spritework on neo - and that's saying something.

1. Castlevania Circle of the Moon (GBA) 2-3-15
I found this one more difficult than the other GBA Games. Here is what I wrote about it on another topic.

No Store! Everything you need has to come from a killed enemy. Whats the point of having 40 leather suits if you cant trade them in towards an upgrade.

After beating a boss your health meter stays the same till you reach a new save point.

Enemies are completely unpredictable. Their movement seems to change based on your distance from them. Not much of a pattern unless you are at the right distances.

Even at 91% of completion I only had 25% of the cards needed to help beat some of the last big bosses. It took a few extra hours of grinding up levels and destroying the same enemies over and over to get the last bit of cards. Oh and by the way, I never collected them all.

2. River City Ransom (GBA) 2-8-15
Played this in the together retro. Fairly easy, just have to know where to grind.

3. Castlevania - Bloodlines (GEN) 3-9-15
Crazy Hard!

4. Rocket Knight Adventures (Gen) 3-20-15
Well laid out levels. Very challenging.

5. The Guardian Legend (NES) 3-24-15
Saw someones recent review on this and thought I would try it. Not a big fan of shmups but this was very good. I loved the foot exploration separating the shmup areas, enjoyed the leveling up of weapons and small bosses mixed in with big bosses. Some big bosses were incredibly hard.

Games Beaten 2015

1. New Super Mario Bros. 2 - 3DS
2. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker - Wii U
3. God of War - PS2
4. Gunman Clive - 3DS
5. Dead Space 3: Awakened (DLC) - PC
6. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney - DS
7. Rogue Legacy - PS4
8. Spinmaster - Neo Geo (Via Neo Geo X)
9. The Walking Dead: Season Two - PC
10. Transistor - PS4
11. Shadow Warrior - PS4
12. Assassin's Creed Unity - PC
13. Dying Light - PC
14. Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark - PS4

Total Games for 2015: 14

Dying Light - PC
This is pretty much what I was hoping to get from the original Dead Island, which was an okay, but pretty average game. Dying Light steps it up at every point, the engine looks and plays great, the addition of the free running to an open world game gave it the freedom you feel in Assassins Creed titles, actually that is the best way I can describe it.

Assassins Creed + Far Cry 3 + Dead Island = Dying Light

Really enjoyable story as well.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark - PS4
This game gets a pretty bad wrap, so much so that I picked it up for $12 new from Kmart. Graphically it is just a better looking PS3 game and it can be pretty buggy at times, more than once I had to restart to the last checkpoint because something would not trigger and I could not progress.

However if you liked either of the Cybertron games (which I have now gone back and bought after playing this), I have no doubt you will enjoy Rise of the Dark Spark.

Don't feel bad. He hates all of us equally and wants us all to suffer together.

Dsh is like the Grumpy Cat of racketboy. He's cynical, miserable, and misanthropic, but we all find him adorable anyway.

But does he sound like Aubrey Plaza? Probably not.

Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader is highly overrated due to two factors. It was a launch title with amazing graphics (for its time) and it is a Star Wars game. In reality Rogue Squadron II is a glorified tech demo that fails miserably at being an actual entertaining experience. Factor 5 obviously rushed this game's development hoping to capitalize on the GameCube launch cycle, and in doing so made a very small game. In order to artificially lengthen the time it would take to finish (to avoid same day returns), Factor 5 chose to make Rogue Squadron II ridiculously unfair. The amount of bad game design present in this experience could fill an essay on how not to treat your player. Frankly I don't want to waste my time going over all of its faults. Besides the graphics everything else about this game just feels lazy. Honestly folks, I only beat this game without cheats purely out of spite because some guys on /v/ said I couldn't do it. (Sad but true.) I wouldn't recommend anyone else ever playing this lauded dribble, let alone finishing it. There are far better Star Wars games to play. Honestly the original Rogue Squadron was more fun than this! Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader chose the dark side, and then used Jedi mind tricks to persuade critics into thinking it was a killer app. If you've somehow managed to avoid this sadistic crud since 2001, keep doing so.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
