I'm with Moz here--I can't stand JRPGs, generally, but Grandia 2's battle system kept me engaged where the plot and characters lacked.

You're insane. It's one of the very few RPGs to ever get me to laugh, and it was way ahead of it's time in terms of voice acting. Compare it to Xenogears, Star Ocean 2, any Tales game of that era. Hell, compare it to FFX even. G2's voice cast is far superior. It only makes sense, given that like 5 or 6 of the actors came from MGS.

While I found the base personalities of all the characters to be pretty unoriginal, most of them were pulled off pretty well, thanks in part to decent voice acting. And yeah, I'm with Moz that Cam Clarke really made the main character's role.

Although I didn't know it at the time, I've been a fan since the first TMNT TV series. You should take a look at Cam's entry on IMDB. He was Leonardo and Rocksteady.
