How do you personally make time for gaming?

I put the second option, since I'm currently 16. I don't have a family or a career or anything like that, so I don't have to worry about not having enough gaming time. However, I have taken steps to ensure that I maximize my time. These include not doing dumb things like having a job, leaving the house, maintaining a social life, learning to drive, getting a girlfriend, or being of use to the world. All of these are distractions from my precious vidya geams, and I must not let them take over my life.

An easy way to fuck with your own head is to start thinking you need to "do something" with your life. Life just is; enjoy.

Well, that's one way to look at it. One could see life not as a learning experience, but just a cosmic blip in eternity. One could enjoy a life of endless hobby indulgence, bereft of seeking the deeper experiences of life. Though one may look forward and see one's self as a lonely old man with nothing to show for one's life but thousands and thousands of hours of video gaming. Perhaps there are some who would regret such an existence on their death bed, solitarily staring at a beeping machine that felt nothing when they died. Personally I believe indulging too much in pleasure at the expense of existential growth is a shallow ideal. In time a comfortable rut fits like a grave. Well that's my opinion sir.

Life is a grave; we're all going to die. You don't need to show anything at the end. If you enjoy learning stuff then learn stuff. If you enjoy teaching stuff then teach stuff. If you enjoy raising stuff then raise stuff. But at the end you're still dead. So make sure whatever it is you do you enjoy. Don't worry about a legacy or some other bullshit because you're still going to be dead.

You are advocating a life of pure escapism based on the ideals of nihilism. While I can understand your logic in that aspect, I do not agree with the philosophy based on experiences outside of such an existence. For example legacies can inspire others to seek endeavors they might not normally do so, and to find excelling in said endeavors brings enjoyment into their own life not known previously. That said, I do admire your fervor for the video game medium, and certainly enjoy your strong knowledge of RPGs.

I don't know that he's denying that people find meaning in their existence or that one's existence might have meaning to others past their own life, just that aspiring to "mean something" is a potentially burdensome approach to life. It is easier, perhaps, to recognize that "meaning something" is subjective at best and nigh impossible at worst...and to just do what one wants instead. If that ends up "meaning something" to you or to the future, then great...if not...well, at least you'd not have wasted your time.

So im 22 and all that deep life meaning talk is scaring me so im going to go back to video game topic.


Well each time the classes at college starts i keep myself away from long games (the ones that last 25+ hours) because i KNOW if i get into a game i wont do anything else until i finish it or im sick of it also each time i have free time there's people using the TV where i can play console games so that helps. Mostly i keep myself with portable games with short, lately not so short, gaming sessions on my 3DS. When im no vacation though i try to beat most of those ps3 games i have.

Existence is meaning. All you have is what you do now. I don't just jump off a bridge because I'm enjoying things way too much. Just because there's nothing more than this life doesn't mean it's pointless; that's missing the point entirely. Since all you have is this you need to enjoy it all you can.
