never heard of it... but now I want to see it.prfsnl_gmr wrote:I am excited to see it. The trailer is great, and AVClub gave it a glowing review. (AVClub recommended both Honeymoon and Resolution, however, and I found the former distinctly mediocre and the latter dreadfully dull.) If nothing else, it inspired this great article on how to make a great horror film.Ack wrote:I'm seeing a lot of ads on YouTube for It Follows. Has anybody seen this or plan to see it? Interstallar. Gravity stretches things a bit, but it is not based on hypotheticals. Both were good, but IMHO Gravity was a "watch it once and you're done" type of movie.RCBH928 wrote:which movie that was put up to interpretation and was controversial, Gravity or Interstellar ?

I saw it on Amazon a couple weeks ago. Not nearly as much blood and satire as the original but enough modern touches to make it just as good.marurun wrote:Finished watching the new Robocop release on Netflix the other day. Something about watching action movies while working out makes me more forgiving. Definitely not the original Robocop, but it has enough redeeming moments to make me OK with it.

Agreed. They took out what made Robocop, Robocop.dsheinem wrote:ExedExes wrote:just as good![]()
And the special effects were actually so much better in the original. That scene in the new one where Robocop is basically a face and a lung was the worst.
Story sucks, cgi sucks, characters suck...Fuck the Robocop reboot up it's robotic ass. Just as stupid and not fun as the Total Recall remake. And while I'm on a roll, fuck video game companies for not giving us enough Robocop games.
I could keep going, and I will. Why in the world do we not have a live action METROID movie, yet have a couple TOMB RAIDER movies?
And fuck all...PIXELS at one point in time had a great script and now we're getting GROWN UPS THREE, PLUS VIDEO GAME CLICHE'S. I hate, hate to judge a movie by a trailer, but nothing about it was funny, clever, and no joke had any payoff. "It's Donkey Kong" isn't a joke. You're just showing us something.
"It's Pac-Man!". Okay. What's the joke? Spoiler alert, the joke is that there are cars named after the ghosts from the game. Ho ho ho. Pac-Man also chomps his creator. Ho ho ho. It's "we show you shit" humor. I also have a strong feeling Rob Schneider will be in this toilet bowl of a movie and I wouldn't be surprised if the movie contains at least a dozen fart jokes.
Way to screw up a pretty neat premise.
I'm done. For now.

The Star / Zvezda
Based on a short story about a group of Red Army sappers behind enemy lines. Gripping and comes recommended to WWII film fans.

Agreed on Pixels. I will probably catch it when it shows up on the movie channels, but I'm not impressed. The "he is my son" line made me smile a bit, and that's it. All I could think was, what if this featured other actors who are actually nerds, Patton Oswalt and Adam Scott maybe?
Or basically anyone who isn't Adam Sandler.

And I have friends who can make PAUL BLART MALL COP a fun time only because of the company. Same with Tyler Perry movies.Jrecee wrote:Agreed on Pixels. But some movies are just terrible, and pixels certainly looks terrible.
It happens all the time. Brilliant screenwriters have brilliant ideas, things get in motion, and then the studio changes almost everything. They Jurassic Parked Three'd this movie.
Still don't understand why people loved the Sandler and Bob sketch from Night Of... All it was was showing us shit we've already scene. No real punchlines, just "hey remember that scene in Happy Gilmore? Here it is again!".
But hell if people don't fall for lame jokes. I'm sure you could post "THIS IS SPARTA!" with zero context and assholes would laugh their ass because...well because it was a popular line at one time.
Hollywood doesn't care about quality, so it's no surprise. Pretty sure we'll have more Fast and Furious movies than Star Wars movies.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
No doubt lol. We are already at Furious 7 we need a Faster 8 and Furiouserer 9.
