Re: The Wrestling Thread
Is it just me or did a few posts just magically disappear from this thread?

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Guess I'll say again then how awesome Ring of Honor's 13th Anniversary pay per view was.
I love the intermingling of promotions right now. Talent and titles go back and forth between Ring of Honor and New Japan. Meanwhile, you have Alberto El Patrol wrestling on both Ring of Honor and Lucha Underground AND he's carrying over a feud from AAA with Texano onto Lucha Underground. This guy's EVERYWHERE right now.
It's like having a favorite show that also happens to have 1 or 2 spin offs set in the same universe.
I'm having mixed feelings about Lucha Underground this week. The Mil Muertes/Fenix/Catrina storyline is pitch perfect and possibly my favorite story line right now.
On the other hand, I HATE what they did with Sexy Star this week. This woman's gimmick is that a woman can make it in the male dominated world of pro wrestling, and yet they effectively had FOUR guys completely BURY her this week. It was kind of sad and pathetic how they made her look. They way they are using her is beginning to bug me. If you won't go all the way with having women on your promotion look strong against men (which I wish they would), then stop paying lip service to your whole gender equality thing and just create a women's division. It's a cop out, but it's better than how they've recently been booking Ivelisse and Sexy Star, which is basically as delusional women who can't hang with the guys.
Ring of Honor has done a FAR better job of making ODB look strong in an inter gender environment.
On a more positive note, can't wait to see Rey Mysterio on Lucha Underground and I hope he creates more opportunities and more exposure for them.
NXT was great this week. I hate that such a great product is associated with a company I currently loathe. I refuse to support WWE in any way, shape, or form right now. So I don't have the WWE network. Therefore, I've taken to alternative streaming sites to watch NXT. Great stuff this week from Alex Riley, always felt there was a lot of lost potential in that guy. Kevin Owens is awesome right now as heel champ, Tyler Breeze is hilarious, and Sasha and Charlotte tore it up in the ring.
It's amazing that I can come away from NXT feeling such positive vibes, while everything else about WWE (including the Bill DeMott story this week) makes me want to stab Vince McMahon in the heart.
Speaking of DeMott, he's yet another in a long line of recent events exposing what a shitty company WWE is.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
The ROH 13th Anniversary Show was very good, and their Atlanta show from the week before (available VOD on their site - only like $11 for ringside members) was even BETTER.
Best $11 I've spent in a while. Strong/O'reilly, AJ/Fish, tag team Armageddon featured some crazy spots. Great stuff.

Jesus...fucking....CHRIST
Lucha Underground entered ECW territory tonight
The main event was the most brutal fucking match I've seen in a very, very, VERY long time.
Not for the weak of heart

And now Rey may be facing a manslaughter charge. So sad.
