Now that the Jasper unit is out I may be buying an Xbox 360. I've read over Ben Heck's article - http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/10/insi ... al-consol/
I see how to identify one, but wanted to know if anyone knew if you could only get that with the Arcade unit or if you can get it with the elite. I'm not sure of the names of the bundles anymore, but I guess I want to know if I can get a Jasper 360 with a harddrive, without buying it separately.

I've heard people are getting Jaspers with different bundles, but the only way to get one for sure is with an arcade. On newegg.com they're even listing which ones have the extra internal memory.
Re: Jasper Xbox 360
So is there any advantage over having the onboard NXE? Is it any faster because it runs slow as hell on my 360. Wish I'd never bothered updating it. Especially when it doesn't automatically put me on the My Xbox part. I don't give a shit about Inside Xbox or whatever overpriced DLC they're touting on the Marketplace. I can make my own informed buying decisions thanks.
O/T but is there anyway to set which category is loaded at startup? I really hate being forced to press three buttons just to get to where I want to be (IE somewhere where I can launch a game.)

Yeah, the Resident Evil 5 Elite bundle is the best way to make sure you get an Elite model that is a Jasper version.

Re: Jasper Xbox 360
I decided not to go through with, not enough incentive yet to get a new console. For me to do it for RE5 would be foolish since I could get just as much enjoyment out of playing RE 1-4. the only one I have played is Code Veronica, and besides, the RE5 bundle is sold out and shot up in price.
Re: Jasper Xbox 360
Can the new Xbox 360 jasper be modded to run pirated games? I am buying a new Xbox 360 within a month from the US so have a few questions. 1. Is the jasper version available now or is Falcon also available? 2. Can the jasper version be modded to play pirated games(m pretty much aware about the banning from xbox live network, warranty and stuff)? 3. Is the pal version also available in US?
Re: Jasper Xbox 360
I just bought an Jasper Arcade and a seperate 60 GB HDD. That way you get 3 free months of gold live membership, the headset and the extra internal memory. And I found a wireless adapter at the pawnshop for $20. I was afraid it would be broken but they told me I could return it if it was so I took the chance. Glad I did to as it works great.
Now I just need to actually do something with my live membership...is it just for playing games online or buying arcade games/movies? What else can you do with it? Can you access the internet from a 360? The only games I have are Conan, Oblivion and Fallout 3...Do those games have online modes? I'm still working on figuring out the ins and outs of the console.
Edit: Have Jaspers started failing yet or are they actually better like they are supose to be?

You don't need a Gold membership to download all the arcade titles, but you do need it for Netflix and online play.
