I'm pretty close to finishing Prey on PC, might even get it done tonight. It's pretty fun but it can get monotonous after a while.

Other than that, I'm about five hours into the The Guardian Legend on NES. (Thank Compile this game has passwords.) This is the first time I've ever put serious effort into playing this game and it has paid off, it's really awesome. It's also crazy hard at times, and yet at other times it's a piece of cake. It's got a strange difficulty curve that's more like a sine wave.

Also my fiance and I started playing Borderlands GOTYE on 360 via splitscreen co-op. It's been pretty fun so far. I can see the potential for it either being a great dungeon desert crawler or eventually devolving into a fetch quest grindathon. We'll see.

Sweet! Glad you're enjoying it. I love that game so much. My brother and I both took that puppy down, and you're right, it does go all over the place as far as difficulty is concerned. One of the early bosses that's rough is the Optomon (I wanted to call it Octomon before I looked it up, I was close!). You really don't have a whole lot of life at that point, and those blasted strands can be tough to dodge.

Final boss goes down like a chump with the right weapons. I won't mention which one right now, because you'll probably want to figure it out yourself!

Indeed. The blue version of that boss almost made me quit the game. It took me about two dozen tries to take it down. Not even kidding. The game's been much easier since then.

Still playing Tropico 3 just unlocked the last set of scenarios. Getting the hang of it now last Island I did a little to well on though got a surplus of around $300k with around 10 years left and yet I had to struggle to keep my head above water for the last 5 years because suddenly my population exploded to 700+ and having used up all the natural resources on the island I was forced to cut everyone's wages by 75% .

Think I'm going to stop bothering with upgrading my resource collecting facilities last two Islands I've managed to bleed dry off all resources outside of farming with 10+ years left on my mandate . That always leads to forcing me into the tourism industry which blows. It's not that tourism is difficult, but it just turns into farming hotels since very few attractions generate a positive revenue and some are so broken even if you set the fee to $0 you will hardly see a person step foot in them.

This game is so-so at best...but I am so insanely addicted that my relationships with all those around me may be in danger.

Just got through the "Curse" Island in Tropico 3. Loving these weird scenarios. The "Curse" was 35 years of bad luck with a hurricane, earthquake, or "tidal wave"(got a message saying one hit but didn't see it and there wasn't any damage) every 2-3 years. Kind of mixed feeling about being offered disaster proofing about 5 years in though while extremely helpful it kind of killed the challenge since with 100+ buildings losing only 2-3 per disaster wasn't really that painful as opposed to the beginning when everything came to a screeching halt as my transportation hub got trashed repeatedly.

Kind of disliking the transportation system in the game now though. Roads are a pain in the butt to set since certain areas "can't be flattened", and rocks are indestructable . Pluse many of the island is literally covered in choke points that get really clogged up late game.

I've started up Shadow of Mordor and made some decent headway into it. Mixed feelings. I don't think I'm as enamored by the nemesis system as other people. Sometimes my nemesis just kind of turns up and it's a bit annoying really. One I killed him, started making my way down a mountain path and he was waiting for me at the bottom all patched up! So I killed him again. Combat can be loads of fun and sometimes it's just a clusterfuck of enemies. It's just not as refined as the Arkham games.
