If you could nominate any retro game for a modern remake...

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

If you could nominate any retro game for a modern remake...

Post by Original_Name »

Which would it be? For me, I'd choose Panzer Dragoon Saga. It'd be great to see all of those ludicrously gorgeous locales remade with current technology, plus the general gaming public REALLY needs to be given the oppurtunity to play that game. I'd also like to see the Sonic series' Death Egg Saga (Sonic 2-Knuckles) redone either in Guilty Gear X-caliber 2D or in the vein of Unleashed's daytime-levels.

(I mean honestly, how come Sega can't think of these things? How about a "Hey, the Sega Saturn was actually pretty fucking awesome, contrary to popular belief!" compilation, featuring ports of NiGHTS, the Panzer Dragoon series, Sega Rally, Fighters Megamix, Shining Force III, Dragon Force, Virtual ON, Guardian Heroes, Mr. Bones, Legend of Oasis, Dark Savior, Astal, the Clockwork Knight series, Burning Rangers, Three Dirty Dwarves, Die Hard Arcade, Daytona USA: CCE, Sonic R, Baku Baku, etc.? It could all fit on a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD, it would be cheap to do, and it would get ridiculously good reviews, thus good sales as well. Sorry for the tangent, I just personally believe that I should run Sega.)

That is a hard question. I would love to see all the great PS1 rpgs remade such as FF Series, Lunar, etc.

I think that if they made a up to date Earthbound that it would destroy! What a great game that was way before its time. It would show people were there favorite SSB character came from.

-Zombies Ate My Neighbors. You could make a really fun/scary remake of that! :D (SNES)
-Mutant League Football! What an awesome game, with blood/gore/etc!!! (Sega)
-Original Ninja Gaidens (1-3). Same style just updated graphics! (NES)
-Power Stone 1-2 (Not a remake.. but perhaps a new one with every character plus more.. what a great Fighting game.) (Dreamcast)
-MC Kids!!!!!! Very awesome adventure game (NES)
-Donkey Kong Country 1-3 (Again, what great classics) (SNES)

I said all of these not for HUGE graphical updates. But if u redid the animation, kept the basic graphical design just updated it, perhaps gave it an original/remake choice at the beginning. Gave the remake/update a new soundtrack/updated music.

Absolutely everyone in the world other than Sega thinks they can do a better job of running Sega. They are absolutley correct.

As for me, an update to a classic game that I would enjoy is Sonic 3D blast. Still Isometric, but with HD widescreen graphics for today's tvs. That game is already a visual masterpiece, this would put it over the top.

I'd also like a 360 Nights game.

Kid Chameleon could really use a facelift. The game was great and it but would be amazing if it got a sequel on the DS...

People actually like Sonic 3D blast? Wow.

I didn't know that. To each his own I suppose.

Retro game that should be remade? Links Awakening DX. Remade with HD graphics. Hell Yeah.

Haha I could go for that. I'm going to be a broken record and say Subterrania. I want it to be remade in high def 2D graphics, and I want Jesper Kyd to come back and do another fantastic soundtrack, this time not limited by the hardware.

Radiant Silvergun, Sonic 2, CD and Super Mario Bros 3. With added content of course! And how could I forget Castlevania 3, a game ahead of its time.

Rocket Knight Adventures
Sonic 2
TMNT (the Arcade one)

That would make me very happy.

i am going to veto any and all sonic remakes because you all know they will have some sort of bullshit thrown into them that will totally fuck them up. besides, sonic cd is flawless as is.

i'd love to see gunstar heroes redone ala bionic commando: rearmed or contra: shattered soldier. only with a cel-shaded style or something. maybe.

kid chameleon would be awesome as a download. i couldn't imagine playing through those huge worlds on a tiny ds screen.
