There's never been a comparison here for me at all, Square Soft's Legend of the Seven Stars blows anything Nintendo has ever tried to do with the Mario & Luig games for me. They're not bad though, but yeah.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Ziggy587 wrote:At the end I asked for E.V.O. and Mario RPG remakes or sequels. I wont hold my breath.![]()

Surely you know that the Paper Mario / handheld Mario RPGs are "sequels" to Super Mario RPG.

I second that, the paper mario series is trash compared to that SNES title which is a shame. Mario & Luigi isn't too bad, decent really, but still isn't as good.

Re: Official Square Enix Survey/Poll
I've played Seven Stars, Paper Mario, and Super Star Saga. Seven Stars was absolutely the best of the three.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: Official Square Enix Survey/Poll
I just want them to do a compilation with a bunch of Japan-only RPGs.
Take both Square and Enix's entire RPG catalogs from the 16-bit era that only came out in Japan, translate them, slap them onto a single disk or onto PSN, try to keep load times to a minimum, and call it Square/Enix Classics Collection or some such bland title.
Bahamut Lagoon, Live-A-Live, Treasure of the Rudras, Front Mission, Alcahest, Romancing SaGa 1, 2, and 3, Treasure Hunter G, Mystic Ark, Terranigma, Lennus 2, Mahojin Guru Guru...whatever they still have or can get the rights for. IT PRACTICALLY PRINTS MONEY, SQUARE!

Yeah that would be amazing.
But I think Square mostly cares about publishing Western AAA games these days. Not sure if we'll ever see another SaGa or Front Mission.

It did, and it includes all the enhancements and the second campaign from Front Mission 1st on the Play Station.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Front Mission had a DS remake, right? I know little about that series, though I did pick up the first installment shortly after I got a Retron 5.
I like the first game but it's kind of broken since ranged weapons are incredibly overpowered.
They did try to "Westernize" the series with Front Mission Evolved, a third person shooter that took some ideas from Gun Hazard, but it was pretty awful and that was probably the nail in the coffin for the series in the west.

I can't help but feel that whatever boxes I tick will just lead to more overpriced iOS Final Fantasy ports...

I cant help but notice the bar at the top of the survey has been stuck at 6% since i first saw it.

It symbolizes how Square has never improved since Final Fantasy 6.
Re: Official Square Enix Survey/Poll
I went through it, told 'em my favorite series was Dragon Quest (and on that list it is!), and said they need to localize the 3DS version of DQVII. So I've done my part.
