Man, everyone hatin' on GameStop. Although in some cases, it's certainly warranted, but that comes down to individual stores. Our local one is awesome, and the one the next town over is pretty good, too. Corporate really doesn't bother me at all, I understand some of the decisions they make, even if it makes the collector in me cringe.

As much as I want them to hang on to the cases, I can also understand why they'd drop 'em. I just wish, instead of trashing them, they'd find something else to do with them. Like perhaps throw them all into a box and sell them to folks like us as a mystery box of cases and manuals. That being said, I see a lot of their product that comes out as caseless, anyway. And I despise their generic boxes, they look awful.

I, too, cashed in on a lot of the disc-only PS2 games. While I'd rather have them complete, if it's cheap enough I'll jump on it just to have ownership of the game. For example, I found Soul Nomad in one of the sleeves, and there's no way I was passing up on the game for what they were selling it for. I really wish there was enough stock left around here to do the 10-for-$10 thing, but as already mentioned, a ton of it by this point is Guitar Hero.

As far as mom and pops and price gouging, I agree completely. There are way too many times I'll walk into a retro store, and they'll be overpriced. And I'm talking about overpriced compared to current eBay pricing, for crying out loud! Some day, I'd love to have my own retro store, and there are some things that I see other stores doing that I'd love to fix. I'd think the key to keeping people coming is turnover, turnover, turnover. Keep new stock in all the time, get people always coming in looking for new stuff. You can't let your stock stagnate. That's the problem with my local retro store, not much changes every time I'm in. I mean, for crying out loud, hop on eBay and buy a few NES lots!

Okay, that's a long enough post. I gots work to do!

who was the worst customer you had?

Did he think he was smarter than you?

Was he?

In my job I have to deal with asshole customers sometimes. I'm sure you've had the same experience.

How did you feel once he slithered out the door?
