Re: Hip Hop/Rap Fanatics Unite!
KRS-One is not the best rapper. By far and beyond. Talented? Yes. But the dude doesn't hold a candle next to the likes of Eninem.noiseredux wrote:this is dope.Luke wrote:Hiphopishiphop
But when it comes to preaching the so called gospel of Hip hop...He's numero uno. Quips like "Adidas chose us, we didn't chose them" and his take(s) on hip hop culture always provide reinsurance that hip hop is about acceptance and not some braggadocios bravado bull that doesn't add up to squat.
Oh. And if you haven't listened to it lately, "Round Away Girl" is still fantastic.

You can be a pasty, lanky, goofy looking white DJ in an all black club, but when you drop this beat you receive insta-cred.

I am late to the party, but I'm just getting into this newer movement of rappers that don't fit into the traditional molds. Guys like Childish Gambino, School Boy Q, and Mac Miller. They are seriously skilled but aren't gangster or pop. They seem like they rap just for the love of it.
This is awesome. His lyrics and flow are on point. He is witty, serious, and confident. I love the 90s feel of this song.

have you heard Mac Miller's "Kool-Aid & Frozen Pizza"? I f'ing love that song. Flips an old Lord Finesse sample, and the vid is an homage to the movie Kids.
You should be checking out Joey Bada$$ and Earl Sweatshirt too.
And A$AP Rocky. Man, I feel like I almost went a month or so in this thread w/o talking about A$AP Mob.
