DS Lite Housing replacement

Anyone ever done this and where did you get the new housing from? Anyone experienced enough to service it for me?

The Big N said I can get it done for $56... walk in tho....

i like my nice screens, i won't get my own ds back from teh big n.

I wonder if anyone has ever done the job.

the operation would be the hardest part either way if i do it, or have someone else.

a busted lite would be between 60-80 and more if i pay someone to transplant

the new shell and maybe getting someone to do it 15-35

I really don't wanna do this myself because my psp job didn't work out to well.

This happened to my DS lite too. Apparently this was a common occurrence. Don't pay a dime!

hold on? Nintendo will send a replacement DS? not the one you sent them?

My toddler cracked the hinges of mine last year and after looking at a lot of different cases I came to the conclusion that they all have WEAKER hinges than the original so I plumbed for sending mine of to nintendo which cost £50 (~$100 man we get ripped off) but they did send me my own DS back,

The outter casing is new, but the innards such as mobo, screens are refurbs. Like for the DS you sent in, they'll just take the casing off, slap on a new one and send it out to those who needs a replacement. This goes for all exchanges done through manufacturer. Costs them pratically nothing and they dont lose anything except for housing and shipping.
