Genesis 2 Game slot removal
I am trying to remove the game cartridge slot of my genesis 2. I have de-soldered all the solder points however it still will not come off.
Re: Genesis 2 Game slot removal
There will be solder in the PCB holes. What you need to do is use a screwdriver and leverage it out one solder at a time.

Don't do that!fox099 wrote:There will be solder in the PCB holes. What you need to do is use a screwdriver and leverage it out one solder at a time.
Look at the sides of the cart slot in the picture, you have to thrash those black things marked in red with a screwdriver or it won't come out

Use the picture that Pullmyfinger posted to see where those metal grommet like things are.
I'd use a knife or a flat head screwdriver to pry it off. Don't be too aggressive, seeing as you might damage the board if you use too much force.

I'm back!

I wedged it out with a Flathead screwdriver. Now i am beginning the process of soldering wires onto each unit. Thanks

Try using IDE cable split into groups of 6 or 7 cables like I did over here:

It's gonna make things a lot easier and looks much neater.
I really have to get around to finishing that
