Games that you've just given up on

Half-Life 2. I broke all the boxes in a level when I didn't realize I'd need them later in the level (stacking them to get over a fence or some shit). Fuck that game.
Ocarina of Time. I kept restarting because all my friends told me to, then realized I just plain didn't like it, and doing it because other people wanted me to wasn't a good reason to play a game I didn't like.
ES IV: Oblivion. I love the game way more when the Oblivion Gates aren't open, so I don't even start the main quest more than is necessary.

Re: Games that you've just given up on
For me it's almost every single RPG ever made. I always lose interest, play something else and never go back to them.
To be honest though I never bothered playing through the second loop of Super Mario Bros. either. Not even with the warp zones.
I badly wanted this game to be more than it was but it wasn't. I gave up on it as well. I'm not a person that usually shies away from escort missions since I'm a fan of old space sims and such, but this game is just absurd.Hobie-wan wrote:Robotech Battlecry. I hate protection missions. They always suck. Gave up at the mission where you have to protect the 5 shuttles launching from the canyon.
This remains the only traditional Mega Man I haven't beaten. Gauntlet you have to run to beat King in the final levels is just too much. I've got the Super Famicom version of the game now and I'm going to see if I have an easier time on a bigger screen.newt42 wrote:Megaman & Bass: GBA
Too damn hard. Once I play more Megaman games, I'm gonna go back and beat this son of a bitch...
This happened to me with the second Metroid Prime. I love the first one to death, I could never get through the second.aeon wrote:Metroid Prime, GC: I Enjoyed the game, but somehow lost interest in it awhile back. Perhaps I will pick this one up again.
Fuck that crap. Seriously. The only thing that's kept me from saying that I love the GnG series.Luke wrote:Ghosts n' Goblins NES - What do you mean I didn't beat the game? I just beat the game.

I think that all of the physics puzzles in HL2 can be achieved without breakable items. The first big one is easier with crates, but is doable with the two cement blocks in the room.catnip wrote:Half-Life 2. Three games I love, wow. You're really trying to get yourself beaten up behind the school man.catnip wrote:Half-Life 2. I broke all the boxes in a level when I didn't realize I'd need them later in the level (stacking them to get over a fence or some shit). Fuck that game.

I'll give you a bit of slack on Oblivion though. The oblivion gates get real old after a while.

For me it's the game I play in which I try to find time to actually play games at all.
I resonate more than I care to admit with that pic JT posted about staring at the new game I will probably never play. I'm waiting for them to age like wine I suppose.
I can't join the "games beaten" threads because my list will look like this.
Game of the month...
Nope.

Really?! Oh wow. Maybe I'll have to dig up my old save and give it another go! I've definitely gotten my fair share of dropped jaws when I talk about my opinions on OoT and HL2, that's for sure! Haha. However, as you can see above, I'm definitely open to giving HL2 another try, at leastBoringSupreez wrote: Three games I love, wow. Honestly, even without the main story, Oblivion is my favorite ES game. I basically love every other facet of the game; I've just given up on the main story, is all.BoringSupreez wrote: I'll give you a bit of slack on Oblivion though. The oblivion gates get real old after a while.

I could never manage to slog through Ocarina of Time either. Like catnip I just flat out don't like the game.BoringSupreez wrote:Three games I love, wow. But I like the other two so don't hit me man, here's my lunch money!
Oblivion does get kind of repetitive once you start going around closing gates like some kind of supernatural pest control service.
