Whoa, I didn't know Tingle was in Majora.

Tonight's the last night I plan on giving Double Dragon II and Mario Golf...
Mario Gold (GBC) is just getting really tedius, with every course effectively being the same, and the RPG elements just seem to get in the way more than anything. With Double Dragon II I've hit my roadblock at Stage 5, and I'm not having much fun with it. Between slow characters, pinpoint timing requirements and cheep as hell enemies I feel like I'm fighting the game engine more than anything else!
After tonight I'm moving on to Tecmo Super Bowl (NES) and Dragon Warrior Monsters (GBC)

Re: What are you playing?
I've been jamming with Endless Ocean: Blue World the past couple nights. I've got about 13 hours in it now. Last night I swam up a crocodile and electric eel infested river in South America, only to discover an underwater doorway sealed by a strange puzzle involving two giant frog statues. I succeeded in solving the frog statue puzzle, and got the door open to discover the Twilight Temple within. Found some high paying artifacts in there that allowed me to buy a buoyancy stabilizer upgrade I'd been keen on. With that kit tonight I'm ready to do some abyss diving. Gonna try to find a submarine that supposedly sunk in a trench within the Red Sea. Looking forward to that tonight! Although I'll admit abyss dives can be unnerving. Nothing like sinking hundreds of feet into the darkness only to have a vampire squid or goblin shark suddenly pop out in front of you! This game is a class act.

Re: What are you playing?
Blue World: I was able to find the lost submersible in a Red Sea trench. However when I got there it was being guarded by a giant squid. Ended up having to use an underwater noise making device, to attract the attention of a huge sperm whale, in order to bring it close enough to the giant squid that the two would engage in battle. Once the giant squid was distracted I was able to reach the sub and find what I was looking for. Really cool game but at 17 hours in, I'm almost at the end of it. Might even beat it tonight. happy/sad
Also I've been mucking around with Torneko no Daibouken: Fushigi no Dungeon for SFC. As the first "mystery dungeon" game I think so far it's pretty good. For being a console roguelike it's better than some others I've played in the vein.

Played a little Super Adventure Island (SNES). Got up to stage 2-3, but that's probably as far as I ever get since I'm not too good at these early platformers with one hit deaths. I do find them rather fun, though.

I just finished playing Adventure Island for the NES.Soldier Blue wrote:Played a little Super Adventure Island (SNES). Got up to stage 2-3, but that's probably as far as I ever get since I'm not too good at these early platformers with one hit deaths. I do find them rather fun, though.
And by "finished" I mean forcing myself to stop playing before I have an aneurysm, snap my controller in half and punch a hole through my TV... Made it to 4-3...

I just started Wario Land 3 for GBC. I'm having fun so far but I was admittedly expecting a straight forward platformer, not a "Metroidvania" game. I guess that comes as part of the surprise when you don't research a title before playing it.
