That's what happened to the original Samsung drive I had. I tried cleaning it to no avail. Ended up being a dead limit switch and it was easier just to replace the drive itself than find and solder a new one of those on.Nemoide wrote:Currently the disc-drive door is acting sticky and doesn't open all the time.
Let's take a moment to talk about the original Xbox.

This explains why I have two of each and only play them on occasion... I love them and want a back-up but I never play them.dsheinem wrote:The Xbox is the Dreamcast of its generation.

I used to have a Xbox. I liked it a lot actually, although I didn't really miss it a great deal.
I agree though, it had some great games and offered things the other consoles of that generation did not. Therefore it did have its place in the generation.
I've been tempted to pick one up again more recently. Although I decided against it, I might do one day. I certainly have the room for one more console upstairs. I'd mostly like to get one to experience Panzer Dragoon Orta, Jet Set Radio Future and various other exclusive games I have forgotten about, but loved back in the day.

Re: Let's take a moment to talk about the original Xbox.
I had two xboxes for the longest time for Halo 1, Crimson Skies, and Bloodwake, lan parties. Halo 1 was a great game to launch the console, and was the only reason I really cared about it. I have I think 30 Xbox games now, after the first wave of pairing them down a few years ago. I need to go back and make another cut and get it down to just the essentials. Like booger, my xbox does not get much love anymore - even with Steel Battalion.
It has been a dream of mine to rackmount four softmodded xboxs and have a mobile lan party setup for 4-16 players. But my source for cheap xboxs dried up a couple years ago and I just havent cared enough to find another.

Couldn't disagree more.dsheinem wrote:The Xbox is the Dreamcast of its generation.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

You are all wrong. The WiiU is the Dreamcast of its generation. The Xbox is more like the Gamecube of its generation.Ack wrote:You're right. The Dreamcast is the Xbox of its generation.Flake wrote:Couldn't disagree more.dsheinem wrote:The Xbox is the Dreamcast of its generation.

So long as you understand that the PS2 is the PlayStation 2 of its generation.prfsnl_gmr wrote:You are all wrong. The WiiU is the Dreamcast of its generation. The Xbox is more like the Gamecube of its generation.

An argument could be made that the Wii is the PS2 of the PS2's generation.Ack wrote:So long as you understand that the PS2 is the PlayStation 2 of its generation.prfsnl_gmr wrote:You are all wrong. The WiiU is the Dreamcast of its generation. The Xbox is more like the Gamecube of its generation.
