I actually have at least 3 SNESes in my pile-of-stuff-to-fix at the moment. I just shutter at the thought of them getting tossed in the garbage or something.

If you guys are interested, post a thread about the problems/symptoms and we'll see about getting them working. Of course, post separate threads from each other.

Ehh I got 3 working ones too, but it's not going in the trash. Nothing gaming-related goes in the trash here. I was just gonna see if you wanted it and try to do a trade for some YPbPr modding goodness on one of my working ones (despite the fact that I know you feel it's not good enough)...

But I'll continue hanging onto it on the "Pile o' stuff I might eventually fix" with my Sega CD, Dreamcast, at least 1 frontloader, a few 2600 sticks...
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

So I've been wanting to jump into the "Year Challenge" (beat a game released every year since year ____) for some time now.

I spent about 90 minutes (lol) making a list ranging from 1976 (start of 2nd gen) to present. Looks good! The only catch is that I'll likely be purchasing a 1985 game before I begin. I own several, but I've either beaten them or they simply aren't of any great significance (random C64 sports and casino games).

I've managed to craft a list that consists of original/physical console/handheld/computer releases that I own (with the exception of 1985, as I stated). No remakes or ports (not even arcade ports). No emulation or compilations needed.

This should be fun. Not sure when I'm going to start.

Did you do it alphabetically or did you puss out?

Hahah no it won't be alphabetically. I pussed.

There are a couple reasons for this... For starters, I don't own an "A" game from 1976 (and none seem to exist outside of Pong consoles and standalone handhelds).

Second, I have way more than 26 years, so the alphabet would end long before the years do.

I will do the alphabet challenge eventually, but it shall be separate!

Lame.

Choosing ANY game from those years is easy peasy. Go A-Z, then back to A...

Seems way too restrictive for me personally. Remember, I am doing 1976/77/78/79/80..... Finding "beatable" games from that era that I actually own was tough enough without tossing in other restrictions.

Anyhow, I'll probably have to approach things the way you two dudes have done it. Intermingle it with your regular list.

That's when you dip into the Russian alphabet with a series of imports.
