More or less. I haven't noticed any lag, I was still able to pull off 1-2 frame links on VSav with that set-up.

As for whether the picture quality is better or worse than with just S-Video, I can't really say. My monitors lack anything other than HDMI, DVI and VGA, so I can't really compare and contrast.

I thought SCART was always better than S-Video?

All I really wish to do is play my Saturn on a HDTV (Component/HDMI/VGA inputs only) with better quality than from I'm getting from plugging the composite cables into the component sockets.

Now that I have a 4MB cart and some fighters to use with it, I really want to see them graphically shine. Unfortunately buying a CRT is out of the question, I live in a studio apartment and don't have room for another television. =/

Supposed to be, everyone says as much, but I can't personally say.

I mean everyone says HDMI is better than Component, but I don't notice a difference.

I would stick to upscaling to 480p on an HDTV with either SCART to component or HDMI converter. I've seen some people go to 720p, but it looks like overkill.

Yeah, I mean - I'd still be using S-Video if I had a TV that did it. I'd be using just straight up SCART if I had a TV that supported that.

The only reason I'm using HDMI/SCART converter is because my set-up wouldn't work any other way.

RGB SCART, sure.

Not all SCART is RGB though!

So I found a copy of SF Zero 3 in my area for a real good price over the week. This version has been on my radar for years now so its nice to finally cross it off the list. Played it for a bit.
I just need the DC FMS Import version of Zero 3 and I'll have every home version of the game. Been wanting to do a comparision video of all the home ports for some time.

^never understood the price on that one, is it better than the DC port somehow?

still working on disc 4 of Panzer Saga, still holding out hope for a good price on Shining Force III...still have to tie up 2 & CD before moving on but i'm happy the rest of the series is translated at least!
