I was wondering if I could get some help as to what the best JRPGs are for playstation consoles.
It can be something you've enjoyed immensely or something sentimental. I just want help building my JRPG collection with solid titles. My personal favorite is FFX.
Sorry if this thread already exists. I couldn't find it in the search.

This should get you started on the PS1 RPG library. Note that a few of these aren't Japanese.

Well I guess I'm,more or less, looking for a more personal testament from what other members on here have enjoyed/experienced.

My personal favorite JRPG's for the PS1 are Suikoden I and II. They're rare and pricey, but also on PSN for $7 a piece. Absolutely fantastic games, so happy to have them on my shelf. Other, more popular favorites are Breath of Fire III and IV and Final Fantasy IX. OH! And definitely Lunar and Lunar 2.
PS2 I'm a sucker for all thing Atlus/NiS... Disgaea series and Persona series among the top. Star Ocean 3 was one of my favorite RPG's on the console, and a more popular option would be Final Fantasy XII, even though a lot of people didn't like it.
PS3... There's obviously a ton of Atlus/NiS options, but I never really played a lot of JRPG's on the PS3. I plan on it... eventually... I'm collecting Compile Hearts games but haven't actually played any of them! Next purchase will be Hyperdimension Neptunia trilogy.

Re: Best JRPGs for Playstation 1, 2, & 3
I have played the following and enjoyed them.
PS1:
Brave Fencer Musashi
Chrono Cross
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy Anthology
Final Fantasy Chronicles
Final Fantasy Tactics
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete
Parasite Eve
Suikoden
Suikoden II
Wild Arms
Xenogears
PS2:
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy XII
Kingdom Hearts
Kingdom Hearts 2
Xenosaga
Suikoden III
Disgaea
PS3:
Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy XIII-2
Valkryia Chronicles
Ni No Kuni
Eternal Sonata
Tales of Symphonia Chronicles
I'm sure I am missing some that I have played but those are what immediately come to mind. As far as publishers go, it is hard to go wrong with Square, Enix, Atlus, and Working Designs in the PS1 era. That mostly remains true in the PS2 era. Square-Enix is hit or miss in the PS3 era.

Final Fantasy Tactics, Lunar Silver Story Complete, Suikoden 1 and 2 and Breath of Fire 3 would top my list for PS1. Also enjoyed Dragon Warrior 7 but never got far and that was a million years ago. Also if you decide on Chrono Cross, it's better not to think of that game as a Chrono Trigger sequel, because it's not, at all.
Barely played any JRPGs for PS2 or PS3 but I did enjoy Ni No Kuni. It's kinda paint-by-numbers but still fun.

Square Enix is upsetting anymore. They are one of those companies that obviously hit their peak and can't get back to good.
Final fantasy X was perfect in every way. My favorite game of all time. Final fantasy XIII is horse shit. I didn't even finish it.

Most of these have already been mentioned but some of my personal favorites:
PS1 - Wild Arms, Xenogears, FF9
PS2 - Shadow Hearts, FF10, Wild Arms 3
While I didn't play many in the PS3 gen due to losing interest in the genre, time, etc. I did recently play through Tales of Xillia and it was a pretty good game. Of course you could say that the 'Tales' series has had solid releases on pretty much every generation listed.

Re: Best JRPGs for Playstation 1, 2, & 3
I have not played all the JRPGs I own for the systems you mentioned, but I've played quite a few. I'll list the top 3 I have played for both PS1 and PS2:
Playstation
Vagrant Story - Amazing dungeon crawler with the best graphics and combat system on the platform, killer story too. Very mature "adult" feeling game. Awesome weapon crafting. This game is only hard if you don't pay attention. Matsuno-san's magnum opus, 'nuff said.
King's Field - I'm talking about the original Japanese released game here, it wasn't released officially in English but a fan trans exists. (Although the series in general is worth playing entirely.) This game drops you in a gigantic dungeon and says "live or die I don't care". If you love surviving on your own skills and wits alone, have a need to explore and find cool loot, and can appreciate figuring out stuff all by yourself with zero hand holding, try this out pronto.
Koudelka - Yes the battle system kind of sucks. Everything else is great. Play as a strong female protagonist exploring a creepy haunted mansion that leads to more devious things. Find your party members as you go, listen to them debate existential religious and ethical issues in entertaining ways. Atmosphere is off the charts, some of the bosses and CG in this game are bonkers. And despite the slow battle system, the game's actually pretty short and could be finished in a weekend. Survival horror JRPG, if that sounds fun jump in.
Playstation 2
Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne - Dark and foreboding and lonely and fantastic. You're an average guy who gets turned into a demon and left to deal with the apocalypse as you see fit. Super badass boss battles, crazy dungeons, awesome OST, and unlike 99% of easy assed JRPGs this one is actually challenging for real.
Final Fantasy XII - The best 3D FF game ever made. Tremendous maps to explore. Crazy cool combat system. The best graphics on PS2. Some of your party members you will never forget (in a good way). Super hard optional boss monsters to track down and die trying to kill. One of the only FF plots that's actually respectable with a distinct lack of overly melodramatic bullshit CGs. Another Matsuno-san infused masterpiece.
Dragon Quest VIII - Huge detailed well realized world that's a joy to explore. Great cel shaded graphics. Classic old school charm every where you look. The best kind of simple fun in a JRPG you can have. The ultimate JRPG comfort food. Not a game for impatient people though, this one has a languid pace.
I do actually own a PS3 and a handful of JRPGs for it, but I have not played them yet. (My backlog is legendary.)
