Single income for a family of five here. It makes my wage minimum as well. Teenagers are expensive in all zip codes.

Living alone making a decent salary and spending way too much of it on video games, especially now that I made the jump to arcade gear.

A good percentage of the people on here that work in the tech sector are making over $100K I'm guessing.
Yup. MrPopo has that MS and Amazon money and a new kitchen w/ sweet pots and pans. He also has a NWC cart. You would recognize him if you saw him:

Of course cost-of-living is another big factor that really shapes the impact of a salary. What I pay on my mortgage for a house with 4 acres every month might only rent you a one bedroom apartment in certain zip codes.
That image is very deceptive; I have dark hair.

I think Luke might actually be the most well off person here, if I remember previous posts of his right.

I hope as a Professor you make more than a High School teacher  , if so, thats no small chunk of change.

I doubt there is any members on this forum who actually posts alot making over $100k, probably some creepers who havent registered or posted though.

MrPopo and I are in the Seattle/Shoreline area.

"As of January, 2015, average apartment rent within 10 miles of Seattle, WA is $1702.
One bedroom apartments in Seattle rent for $1385 a month on average and two bedroom apartment rents average $1926."

I don't know what your mortgage is, but perhaps comparable?

Rent rates are criminal here. More and more "aPodments" are starting to sprout up throughout the city, which are a new thing in the past few years. Previously, a studio apartment had to be 400 square feet or more. Now, they have passed new laws that allow for micro-apartments (aka aPodments) that only need to be between 120-350 square feet. That's smaller than the average one car garage, or roughly the size of two Seattle prison cells put side-by-side. The apartment owners charge about 2 to 3 times more per square foot for aPodments, but they are so small that the monthly rent check ends up being $600-$900 per month, so people will settle for the smaller size given the lack of other options for rooms they can afford each month. They've also convinced people that it's cool to design these tiny things because it requires maximal efficiency and they sell it as leaving a smaller ecological footprint, but it's really just shoving poor people together in a sardine can so apartment developers and owners can make more money on less real estate.
