Action Replay for DivX

Post by SamFisher440 »

Ive used used AR Max for watching divx videos before. I have two more but they are just over 700 Mb and I don't have a DVD burner. One is only 700.75. I know I could probably over burn it but Max Media Creator won't let me use it. I dont want to convert it for I may lose alot of quality. Anyone know of a program to use for AR that will allow me to use larger files?

Can you please tell me which system you're using it for?

But I can tell you that if you have a PSP or an Xbox 360, they can play M-PEG4 and M-PEG 4 AVC (H.264) videos, providing you have the latest firmware for each. In fact, I often put videos on my PSP and stream them to my Xbox 360. And their codecs are far more advanced that DivX, which is slowly being outmoded.

maybe nero? not sure what you are asking. perhaps the ps2/xbox does not read 800 MB cd discs, but you could try that. or find a program that will let you cut the damn credits at the end. I am still searching for something like that, but cannot find an actual good working program for that.

VirtualDub, or AVIdemux. The latter is like VirtualDub, but a lot easier to use.

360 plays DivX too, but it's an optional update. You just have to try and play a DivX file while connected to Live and it'll ask if you want to install the codec.

Sorry, failed to mention it is for PS2. I could probably use virtual dub to take off the credits at the end and part of the beginning. I was just wondering if anyone knew of software to burn Divx AVI videos to CD-Rs and actually have AR read them. You can't just copy them to disc, you have to use Max Media Creator or some other program. Can't find anything else. Ill try to hack parts of it off.

Just use virtual dub to chop the credits off.

There's an easier way... well easier from my point of view. Get SMS for your PS2.

This is where the easy part gets debatable. You need to be able to launch elf files, and I think ARmax probably does just that. I have an old ARmax version that doesn't, but yours has a media player so you can probably launch them. With SMS there is no need to edit or convert your divx. You can launch them from CD, DVD, USB sticks or a Harddrive. You can even share your media over a network from you computer using Radhost client, as the PS2 won't pick up your connection as easily as an Xbox with xbox media center.
