I find that the game has aged a bit badly in some areas. Mostly the save points being so far apart, and death so easy (at least at the start of the game), you're going to be losing up to 1.5 hours of progress at a time.

I prefer The Misadventures of Tron Bonne over MML 1/2.

A lot of atlus' 3ds offerings are on sale at the eshop:

$15 each (North America/US prices; don't know if EU has these sales):

Etrian Odyssey IV
EO Untold
Devil Survivor Overclocked
Code of Princess (was this any good?)
Devil Summoner Soul Hackers
SMT IV

I enjoyed it as a spiritual successor to Guardian Heroes that doesn't quite live up to that pedigree but does some fun stuff along the way. Worth $15, I 'd say.

Would you say it's better than Dragon's Crown?

I'd say that Dragons Crown and Code of Princess compliment each other very nicely.

Both have a similar combat style, both allow for leveling up of skills and talents. CoP though you unlock full on characters to use or team with and you can rank them up as you wish. DC though you just raise the dead and can arm them but only level up your main person you started with. Core elements though, they both go along a progression with a good story, hack/slash/magic away at stuff, and then take down some bosses to further the story by some means (going places, getting a necessary item, etc.)

I'd think if you were a fan of one, the other would be a welcome game too. I've finished both, and miss DC since I no longer have PS3 games. Had I not last that sale that went dry real fast on the PS TV for $50 I would have bought it to replay again on there with the Vita version.

Dragon's Crown isn't plagued with slowdown like Code of Princess is.

Speaking of, maybe that'd be one to try in the New 3DS to see if it's still quite as bad.

No, it's no where near as good. I don't even consider code of princess good just barely ok. The combat is shallow and very repetitous even for a RPG brawler, it's very easy to exploit the game there's a character that is OP as hell, the one with the guitar i think, and there's no reason to use another one. Voice acting is bad and not the good kind. There's barely any strategy in the combat just smash one button and eventually you win, i know this is something normal in brawlers but in dragon's crown you at least have to avoid some hits. The only appeal i can see from this game is that you can play as a the enemies in a special mode but the levels and mission itself are boring so there's no reason to play them.

Maybe i should not be the one that should talk you about this game.

But yeah is not even close to be dragon's crown. That is THE most dissapointing game i have played on the 3DS so far.

I guess I forgot but I don't remember Code of Princess grinding to a crawl and I finished it.

I'm surprised at the dislike that Code of Princess is getting as it's not that shallow, no more than Dragon's Crown at least. The only thing that makes it less shallow is the online play or it would get boring as hell after awhile since it's not that long and they make you re-do the stages on a higher difficulty twice over to truly finish the game.
