Re: What are you playing?
Just grabbed the entire S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series at Bundle Stars for $10. I have been meaning to play the series, but never wanted to plunk down the cost and this is a better excuse than any to start it up. I have no preconceived notions about what this game is or how to play it, but I know that it is a survival game game.
Starting with Shadows of Chernobyl, any suggestions or tips?

Patch it fully, then seek the fan patches. Don't yet go for the big mods that add in content which was originally planned but cut, as they can change the base game considerably.BogusMeatFactory wrote:Just grabbed the entire S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series at Bundle Stars for $10. After that, play the game. Go slow. Be patient. Use your bolts. Learn which mutations to avoid and which ones to use your knife on. Strip every carcass you find of gear. Always take all the bullets you can carry. Make yourself a stash and remember where they are. Enjoy your potted meats. And get a scoped rifle as quickly as you can.

Just take it slow. Never rush into anything, or you will die. Learn the sounds that different mutants make, and spend a lot of time on hills studying the routes you want to take, because there's a good chance that something along the way will try to kill you, be it people, mutants, anomalies, radiation, and so on.

This is exactly what I want. I am a huge fan of DayZ, but am not enjoying how a lot of people have degraded it into a typical FPS Deathmatch, so this seems like a great transition. Super Excited!!!!Ack wrote:Just take it slow. Never rush into anything, or you will die. I tried Apotheon. I love Greek mythology but I'm really not feeling the combat.
I might jump back into Shadow of Mordor.
I also started up Final Fantasy X HD, but haven't gotten very far.
2015 hasn't been so great for gaming thus far.

Did you know you can use a regular controller to emulate a Wiimote in Dolphin? Started up SMG1 last night and it is SOOOOO nice not to have to point the Wiimote or shake it or any other nonsense. Plus Galaxy looks great in 1080P. Might have to grab Skyward Sword next.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Whoa! Amazing. I'll have to try this out.Stark wrote:Did you know you can use a regular controller to emulate a Wiimote in Dolphin? On a whim last night I fired up Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage and played for awhile.
This game is a Kafkaesque nightmare. It's only remotely playable. I eventually stopped playing only because it crashed on me. I can't remember the last time I saw a cartridge game on a console crash like that.
I'm almost tempted to play through it someday as some sort of masochistic badge of honor.
Secret of the Stars has nothing on this game.

Still playing Croc 2. It's Crocrrific!
Tonight I might start Bastion or Elysium Tales. Or From Dust. I have a lot of Xbla games gone untouched.
