I just grabbed it real fast and was able to enter the 3 minute mode (A+B+Start). I really like the game and the mode as well. You're also able to get your final score in this mode and get the screenshot with no problem. I think it would be easier to keep this game on for July, but have 2 scoreboards, one for the Normal mode and the 3 minute mode. I think it will be nice to mix things up and to have two modes for this game is pretty cool!

We'll keep Dangun Feveron for July and have the Normal scoreboard as well as this special Caravan/3 Minute Mode scoreboard.

Well, i'm impetuous. I traded my board away last night.

EDIT: got 3 runs in on this game:

1,210,490 - mjmjr25 - Iceman - Stage 4 - SATURN

Bullets get fast and furious on stage 4. Gonna have to relearn...felt very fast and spazzy.

I made it to the second loop last night in Batsugun, then woke up and realised it was a dream.

RE Dangun, by all means feel free to change it but if it's difficult to screenshot the board we could still screenshot the score at the continue countdown, right? (never actually played the game)

^Yeah, that can work, just no normal scoreboard that we're accustomed to. Regardless, I traded my board last night to a buddy on neo, so if we stick with it, i'm out now.

Got a few more runs in:
1,440,750 - mjmjr25 - Stage 4 - Beltiana - SAT

Special Version
1,797,640 - mjmjr25 - Stage 4 (boss) - Beltiana - SAT

So...special version...what are the differences other than the gold pigs that up your score? It seems slightly harder and faster beginning at stage 3, but there were more points to be had...is there more to it than that?

This game really kicks it up on stage 4. First 2 stages are breezy, 3rd stage is moderate, stage 4 (and beyond, I assume) are manic.

Not at all - my gaming time is too precious to waste time trying to get it running in MAME. I still don't have a working build and i've killed 2 computers and almost a third trying to figure it out. I have 4 flash carts in my house with zero roms on them. I just don't get any of it and am done trying to figure it out.

It really is this easy:

1. Download MAME, run the install file.
2. Download the ROM, place it in the "roms" folder in your MAME directory
3. Run MAME.exe, type the first few letters of the game's name, and it should come up and go when you hit "Enter"!

Past that, you just need to hit "Tab" and then set up what buttons on your controller you want to do what. If you have Skype or FaceTime or something I'd be happy to walk you through it.

Yes, if you play around with full sets and custom frontends and the rest it gets messy. Just don't do all that.

I appreciate that, sincerely. I've had noise, ninja, dunpeal and exed all walk me through it at different times - it just doesn't take. I end up going to the site and hitting what i'm supposed to hit...or so I think, and I download all this crap - I can't tell what's what. Zip unzippers and whatever else. The time it takes you to make one mistake and then uninstall is probably 20 seconds. It's 2 hours for me - frustration sets in quickly.

Are there any real scoring tricks to Batsugun? Do the gold items do anything but increase your meter and give you end of level bonuses?

As for MAME, I'll be more than happy to assist as always. All I had to do today was grab feversos.zip and I was doing that 3 minute mode with no issues. Tons of ships and tons of shots! I am looking forward to this :)
