--Sighs--, I may have to get an import Saturn sometime, as that really does make me wonder.
Maybe then, I really would bust out my KOF 95.

Or learn how to region mod my spare system (I use that one with a regular memory cart and strictly for US releases)...

How is KOF 95 on the Saturn anyway? I remember hating the load times on the PSX, so Im hoping the dedicated cartridge solves that.

I use an AR for Metal Slug. There was significant amount of slowdown tbh. I thought it was just a bad port. I might try getting the official SNK 1 MB Cart and see how it goes.

Not necessarily. Although I wouldn't particularly advise it considering the fragile/finicky nature of the Saturn cart slot.
And that is that if you have one of those AR carts, then load up KOF '95 and then start the game up. As soon as the Sega logo goes away swap out the AR cart for the KOF '95 rom cart.

I've done it and it works. But as I say, not the most health friendly method for that cart slot. :P

A bit of trivia but I also have the PAL version of the game and I see that particular rom cart that was released in PAL regions is interchangeable with the Japanese one.

I always just use to cart it was designed for (1MB / 4MB) to avoid the issues, but wondering if AR had them.
I haven't noticed any issues with Samurai Shodown III, but I've definitely run into issues with Real Bout Fatal Fury on the Action Replay Plus.

On my American Model 2, RBFF wouldn't run at all. RBFFS would, but not RBFF.

On my Japanese Model 1, RBFF would run on AR+, but certain characters would have small glitches (like Mary's jacket and dog would look like Missingnos) while some characters would be nothing but terrible glitches (Sokaku's entire character sprite and all of his special effects and projectiles are just corrupted graphics to the point that it's like fighting an invisible opponent.)

No problems with the 1MB cart + JP Model 1, as far as I've experienced.
