So today at Goodwill I ran across a bunch of N64 games - all of which were rental games from Blockbuster.
For $2 each, I picked up:
Super Smash Bros.
Mario Kart 64
Mario Party 1
Mario Party 3
Hybrid Heaven
Zelda OoT
Ready 2 Rumble Boxing
Cruisin' USA
Pokemon Puzzle League
Pokemon Snap
Tonic Trouble
I'm not much of a Pokemon fan, but my kid is. And I took a chance on Tonic Trouble since it was so cheap. All the games have stickers on them - most on the actual game artwork. So I won't be able to remove anything, unfortunately.
Considering the value of the 1st party games I found today, this could be the best trip to Goodwill ever for me.

NICE! My Goodwill never has videogames. Maybe I should drive to a ritzier area and check the Goodwill's there...
Comics, RPG's, miniatures, and now retrogaming? I guess its time to learn to go without eating...
Re: Possibly my best Goodwill score ever...
I'd feel guilty buying anything like that at a goodwill. I see it as taking away the x-mas and birthday presents from some kid in a poor family.
Re: Possibly my best Goodwill score ever...
Besides, every Goodwill I've been too really didn't have that much game-wise. Now I did pick up a great portrait of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X, but hey...that's not games.

Yeah but that kid would just be resentful about getting "crappy" old games when his friends got XBox360 games. At least your going to play the games and enjoy them instead of taking out your frustration for daddy's alcoholism on the cartridges with a baseball bat.Mozgus wrote:I'd feel guilty buying anything like that at a goodwill. I don't think that's true at all. A friend of mine was poor growing up and he loved all the old games he got. Actually, so did I, and we weren't poor at all, but I was always a generation behind.nikon_62 wrote:Yeah but that kid would just be resentful about getting "crappy" old games when his friends got XBox360 games. Actually, the idea is that the money that goodwill makes off these sales goes to helping the needy and destitute. The people who work there (or the idea used to be) are supposed to be training towards learning a skill like running the cash register and taking inventory, etc... You shouldn't feel bad about it. Every time they sell something, that money is supposed to turn around and help.Mozgus wrote:I'd feel guilty buying anything like that at a goodwill.
