I didn't know static was such a big problem for people.

Me neither. I mean, I never start no static, I just get it off my chest.Forlorn Drifter wrote:I didn't know static was such a big problem for people.
EDIT: That said, I never had to battle with no bulletproof vest.

That's because we're in Texas where it's humid most of the time. The only reason I have a static strap for PC assembly is because someone in Massachusetts sent me a spare with some parts years ago. I've never used it.Forlorn Drifter wrote:I didn't know static was such a big problem for people.

Yeah, only time I encounter static is with my turntable. I think it can get pretty dry during winter months, at least up in Northern Texas, but I've never bothered with anti static straps, either.
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I figuratively hate the overuse of the word "literally".
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Worse yet is when people use it to describe something wrong.Luke wrote:I figuratively hate the overuse of the word "literally".
"I literally just shit my pants." in exchange for "I'm extremely excited." instead of actually having shit their pants. This literally feels like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Therein lies my joke, as I literally hate the overuse of the word.jp1 wrote:Worse yet is when people use it to describe something wrong.Luke wrote:I figuratively hate the overuse of the word "literally".
Just as with the word "epic", "literally" is a buzz word that even very intelligent people misuse everyday. I understand that there is an evolution of nomenclature and not everyone is a wordsmith, but I can't help but cringe when I'm told that the burger someone ate was "so epic that it literally blew my mind".
Makes me feel like El Gaupo.
If one dude said "Altered Beast is epic", it wouldn't bother me at all. But if you a search of just this forum of epic...wow.
Only a trivial pet peeve of mine.

Hence, me literally making another one by misusing the word right after I said I hated it. I'll admit it wasn't epic though.
