The game had much more appeal and you had more connection to the characters and your villagers. Tell me of any other game that continued on in real time, with events happening, integrated into the calendar. There's almost always something going on in the game. Yes, there's chores and tasks, but if that's all you try to do, then sure the game could get boring. If you play it for 15 to 30 minutes a day, it's easy to keep fresh. If you're bingeing, then that's where it could get stale and you run out of things to do.
. You are the one who suggested that if a game is better elsewhere, it probably shouldn't be here. The PS2/Xbox compilation gives you the two full GCN Monkey Ball games + their mini games + ~50 extra levels. It is clearly the best choice for Monkey Ball action. The Xbox also has improved load times, if that is your new hang up.
