Strange PS2 Fantavision variant?

Hey guys -

Picked up Fantavision for the PS2, complete and in great shape. However, the disc has NO front label. It's an official PS2 disc (as evidenced by the hologram on the flip side) however.. both sides are completely shiny. It's really strange. Has anyone ran into this with Fantavision or any other early release PS2 games?

I imagine it was just a factory goof and quality control sleeping on the job. Although in cleaning marker off other discs with solvents (that don't hurt the disc) I've had some discs that the printing was pretty cheesy and started to come off. Perhaps someone had this happen to them and they just scrubbed it all off as a joke?

Yeah.. I thought about this but then looked at my other "launch" PS2 games and they all have that hefty printing on it... I can't imagine it coming off with solvent or scraping. Weird!

I suppose I'll just chalk it up to quality control and have a weird little addition to the collection.

I guess it is a factory error.

Is it the same like when the guy brought up last year some pics on some FF VII that had no pictures on the disc label.
