That's an understandable angle when you look at the quality of many Western developed games on the mobile market lately. I'm not even being facetious either. I've seen mobile games that not only rival, but surpass what the Vita can do. With the pace at which mobile technology advances, trying to create a handheld with graphics as its main selling point for a generation of time (say 5 years or so) is a tough business plan. Obviously Nintendo fully understands this as evidenced. So if you're a Western gamer who updates your phone every two years, you can already buy Vita-graphic quality mobile games on the system you already have. It doesn't give you much impetus to buy a Vita for that purpose. Unless you're a fan of Sony's franchises of course.

If you were Sony, what would you do for your next handheld?

Same. JRPGs are my lovez, but I can't stand any more of this NIS/Idea Factory moe otaku-pandering crap. I want to see JRPGs on the system but I want substantial games by Falcom, Level-5, Square, Atlus... The type of stuff we'll still be talking about in 10 years.

I'd love to see the new Phantasy Star titles localized (lol), some more Seiken Densetsu, a new game by Atlus that's on the same level as Radiant Historia, and so on... Hell I'll even settle for some more Final Fantasy reboots.

What I don't need is another Atelier or Hyperdimension. As I said on a previous page I'm just going to start importing at this point. Thanks to ferret for making me aware of the PAL Child of Light.

As for indie games, I enjoy them but tend to play them on the PC.

Any of you interested in the upcoming Persona 4 Dance Rhythm game?

There are a lot of Western gamers who feel the same way. But until Japan has a seachange this "moe otaku pandering crap" will continue to flourish. What can I say, ecchi sells and is easy to produce.

From what I've read, the primary game will play fine off the cart, but the included DLC is region locked and won't work with a USA account.

Not really. But it is Atlus so maybe this one will be above average for the genre.

It's a shame, because there's a solid list of those titles across more diverse genres for the first couple years of the system...then nothing.
That's the exact reason why I got rid of mine.

The indies I can play on PS3 (or on my phone). Digital PS1 games on my PS3. And I really don't care about JRPG's anymore. I'm sad to admit that the Vita was a disappointment for me because I really liked the hardware (that OLED screen!) and I felt it was a step forward from the PSP. However the lacking library, in conjunction with unreasonable memory costs, didn't justify keeping a dusty paperweight.

Oh jeez. That's cool.

Now play some Mortal Kombat!

Thinking about picking up Freedom Wars finally. Haven't touched the thing in ages.

I sort of want to import a lime green one from Japan too. Sick of black.

Groovy Hori Stick. Is that just a generic PS-->PS3 controller adapter? I like seeing new, inventive uses for the PSTV. That poor device seems like such wasted potential.

Whoops, sorry. I should have posted the adapter info. It's the Korean InPin PS2 to PS3 adapter. It made a headlines in the fighting game community for being lagless when it was impossible to find the Guitar Hero adapter.

You can still buy them HERE.

I made a VIDEO of the HRAP 2 SA in action.
