VGA Doesn't Work with Jet Grind and Soul Calibur?!

Post by Beak »

I just got my new VGA-box (SWEET! btw).

I did Ikaruga first, then Guilty Gear X.. so so clear. It's mind-blowing.

Then I tried Jet Grind Radio and the disk wouldn't load.. Then I tried Soul Calibur and it said the game doesn't support VGA. So I switch to S-video.. same thing. It says it doesn't run S-video either.

...

Wtf?! These games don't work with S-video or VGA? I thought all games ran with S-video.

The only thing is that my Soul Calibur and Jet Grind Radio are PAL games. Is this it? They both work fine on my crappy-as-hell MadCatz RF switch (the one that hooks up through the cable jack).

Lemme say it again though... VGA is a must. I could never go back. The picture is SO crisp it's mind-blowing. Plus I hook up my external speaker system to it?? It's f***ing amazing.

I havent played either of the two you ran into issues with since i got VGA, but i agree, if you havent done it yet, VGA is a must for DC gamers. If only the general public got to see how well defined these games were and the vibrant colors you can see with a VGA hookup (and VGA hookups were more common) there is no way the DC would have failed (well except that sega did everything they could to screw up)..

My retail copies work fine in VGA and s-video, and the pirated copies I had before those also did.

Yeah well scratch the complaint on Jet Grind Radio... now it won't even work on anything. Disc must be bad. :(

Soul Calibur works in PAL + VGA Box but not on all TFT Monitors.

Make sure the switch on the VGA box clicks to the left or the right. I thought I had a bad one a few days ago but the switch turned out to not be fully seated
