So I'm working on a NTSC Sega Saturn Model 1 and for some reason it will play 95% of games but a select few it will not. It says there is no disc in the tray.
I did a little cleaning and got one disc that wasn't working to work but it won't read one i've tested over and over. Dragon Force.
All the games work in every other saturn I try, Model 2 and Model 1 systems. This one system just won't play it.
Any ideas what might cause this or how can I fix it? Should I adjust the laser?
So far I've cleaned the lens, checked the ribbon from the board to the disc drive, cleaned the contacts of the ribbon from board to the disc drive and even tried to use an action replay cart to possibly facilitate the game to play. So far everything leaves me with a Dragon Force that won't play.

If it plays one game and doesn't play another that's got to be a laser issue.
If the other pieces of equipment weren't working, that other game wouldn't play at all.

Kind of had a feeling it might be a laser issue. I was hoping it would be some easy fix. I guess I'll attempt to adjust the laser strength to see if it will get it to work consistently. Otherwise I guess it might be time for a replacement.
