Good cause it's really shit, and doesn't even have any proper FF fan-service.Fragems wrote:Final Fantasy also spawned an anime although I never got to far into it.

Yeah I've tried to watch it twice but I always get 3-4 episodes in and move one. The characters especially the villains suckZeroAX wrote: Good cause it's really shit, and doesn't even have any proper FF fan-service.

You know it's a shitty FF license because the main protagonist has a giant gun instead of a giant sword

This user really likes SEGA Saturn. Avoid at all costs.

I can agree with that last post. Macross, a super underrated excellent shooter that you don't need to know a thing about the anime to really enjoy. I used to be able to roll that game over back in the 90s and 00s, but now I'd likely get my ass shot out from under me or I'd attempt to rack up a score on it.

With the mention of Dreamcast's Sword of the Berserk, I will say that I played that and enjoyed it way before I knew about the anime/manga. In fact, it wasn't until a few months later when I was watching some random other anime that I saw a preview for the Berserk anime and I was thinking "Wait a sec, this music sounds a lot like that Sword of the Berserk game. Hey, wait a sec, that looks a lot like Guts..." Was a pretty magical feeling.
Nostalgia glasses off, I can definitely say the PS2 Berserk game is much better, aside from the soundtrack. Dreamcast definitely had the better soundtrack.

Thanks that reminded me of two things.
One, I had that game too, no idea it was anime/manga until after the fact and enjoyed it.
Two, I did know Record of the Lodoss War, had it both on VHS then later DVD, yet that game on Dreamcast is an excellent stand out that needs no help from the anime to be worth playing.
