I hope to do that, but to be honest I'm not sure I'd be qualified to do a soccer one because it's the one sport I didn't watch growing up (wasn't popular, no local team). So because I don't know soccer that well, I'm not always sure what to look for in a soccer video game.Ack wrote:Sweet deal. I look forward to it. Do you plan to do one of these for every sport? So Basketball, Hockey, Soccer, various types of racing, etc.?

Sure, but you can still do the important basics: do the controls feel good, how does the camera work, do the graphics make my eyes bleed? And how easy is it to pass, pick plays, score, and defend? I think you'll be fine. Also, there is a surprising amount of soccer games on the Super Nintendo. In North America alone, there were 19 soccer games released on the SNES. That's the fourth most popular sport, after basketball(20), baseball(20), and football(26).
Hell, soccer is the second most popular sport on the Super Famicom/Super Nintendo, with 55 individual games across all regions. Baseball had 57 games total. You gotta do it!

LOL I know when I was weeding out the japanese exclusive SFC roms for my everdrive, there were soooo many soccer and Mahjong games.Ack wrote:Sure, but you can still do the important basics: do the controls feel good, how does the camera work, do the graphics make my eyes bleed? I hope he will do a SNES baseball overview. We need it!
Outside of EA's FIFA games, I like International Superstar Soccer on the SNES.

Your reviews are so awesome, after watching this video I immediately went on eBay and bought a copy!SNESdrunk wrote:Tuesday, February 3, 2015 - Ys III: Wanderers From Ys
I remember playing this on a Blockbuster rental. The one thing I definitely remember about it is how AWESOME the music is. I've been going back and forth for some years now if I wanna pick up a copy and give it a go. Your video pushed me over the edge.
I can't believe how cheap it is, considering the price of most SNES games these days. There's not a whole lot of (worthwhile) games that you can score for around the $10 mark.

I love Ys III.
You like part IV better, Drunk? I consider IV and V on Super Famicom to be among the worst in the series.

Never thought of the Zelda 2 comparison, but it's spot on haha.

It's like $10 average on ebay, the same price as Mario Paint and Super Game Boy. The best bang for your buck on the SNES IMO. And 100x better than friggin Lagoon.
Re: SNESdrunk reviews
I'm surprised to hear that. I love doing those Super Famicom RPG videos because I discover all these new games I never knew about, and Ys IV was one of my favorites. I loved the different approach to combat, it was almost shmup-like. It was a breath of fresh air that genre desperately needed. But then maybe that was just me being burnt out from playing those kinds of games.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I love Ys III.
