-GitS PS2, while not as good as the PS1 game is still lots of fun. Solid multi.

Astro Boy: Omega Factor is a fun game, nice choice. I'd go with Sky Crawlers for the Wii. It's normally not something I'd enjoy, flying games, but it's done well. I just picked up the Anime it's based on last night so I
I'm looking forward to watching that.

I've also enjoyed the Yu-GI-Oh card games over the years though I'm sure most people already know of those.

I can honestly confirm that the Naruto games are pretty solid. Absolutely love the Ultimate Ninja Storm games on 360/PS3, and Clash of Ninja 2 on the Gamecube. I also like the Ultimate Ninja games for PS2, but it's not as good as these.

Funny thing is; I don't even like the Naruto Anime, and I love these games.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex for PS2 is another fun one. I've never seen any Ghost in the Shell anything, but I really liked it, when I played it.

Also, not necessarily an Anime game, but Pokemon Puzzle League for N64 is an addictive Panel De Pon clone that's based on the Pokemon Anime.
This user really likes SEGA Saturn. Avoid at all costs.

This is the reverse direction, but Steins;Gate was such a good visual novel that it spurred the development of a full anime series that was also quite popular.

It was translated to English last year and I've been playing it recently. It's some of the best time travel fiction I've ever encountered for delving into the theoretical physics that could attempt to explain how time travel could be possible. It's really entertaining and intelligent stuff. I haven't seen the anime yet, so I don't know how they compare. I wanted to go to the source first and play through the VN.

Find the English version here:

If nothing else you can say that the modern Naruto games are extremely nice to look at. They do play pretty well too even if it's not my thing.

I only played one of the games from 3 years ago. It felt a bit too much about spectacle, but that may have been because I sucked at it xD.

Any good anime based JRPGs?

If you have a SFC, modded the system, or have a retron5 (or use emulators on PC) Lupin the 3rd is a great little game. You basically use various gadgets to break into and then out of places while avoiding being caught or killed. Pretty nicely drawn visuals, even the characters are well animated, nice audio, good smooth controls and a decent challenge.

Yu-Gi-Oh (that follows the IRL card rules). It's a legitimate TCG despite any ties to any anime. Awesome as heck.

There is one Naruto game that is different than the million fighting games the anime has spawned.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja IMPACT which is essentially a Naruto musou (Dynasty Warriors style) game and is very fun. You don't really need to be a fan of the anime to enjoy it (I don't think I've seen more than 20 episodes of the original show).

I'll also add the Xbox 360 exclusive Naruto games: Rise of a Ninja and The Broken Bond. I really enjoyed both of these games which were designed by Ubisoft Montreal.

The Gundam fighting games are really fun, as is Robotech: Battlecry.
