I've heard it a million times before.

It starts out as a little bit of Nam with the wrong historical date. Then you need some Metal Slug. Then why not try Magician Lord. OOh, that Sengoku looks nice. Well, who can REALLY just play one Metal Slug. Samurai Showdown, that's a cool game. Well, really the sequels are worth picking up too. OMG have you guys heard of this Cyber-Lip run-n-gun! Amazing Hidden Gem! Oh snap! Windjammers is the BOMB! I've almost completed my collection of Metal Slugs now. Why did nobody tell me League Bowling could be this much fun?! Holy shit! Baseball Stars? I've never even liked a sports game before! Waku Waku 7? What is this? Neo Geo has to be the most amazing system ever! I just learned about something called Last Resort. I must have it.

and on... and on...

It launched on the 3DS Thursday for $3. It includes 4 playable characters, I haven't unlocked the 4th yet, but the 3rd is a chieftain and has a much different play style with a spear making for more of a challenge. The game is richer looking with more colors which helps. It also has fresh ideas like a horse riding stage, flying stages that controls like a slow Afterburner, and a horizontal panda riding stage. The sequel is more refined and if you liked Gunman Clive or want to play an improved version with more ideas I would highly recommend this.

January:
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Wii U - £3
Sonic Advance 2 GBA - £4
Donkey Kong Country Returns Wii U VC - £3.99
X Game Boy - £10.67
Marvelous: Mōhitotsu no Takarajima SFC - £9.66
Money Idol Exchanger Game Boy - £8.42
Kirby's Dream Land 2 Game Boy - £11.28
PSOne console
Kiss Pinball PS1 - game and console for £21
Lost Kingdoms 2 GC - £15.77
Amiibo - Ike - £10.31
Amiibo - Lucario - £10.31
Amiibo - Rosalina - £10.31
Amiibo - Bowser - free
Amiibo - Sheik - free
Total: 9 games, 1 console, 5 amiibo: £118.72

Sigh, I really did intend to buy less this month. I need to start budgeting in a way that I'm keeping better track fo what I'm spending on this stuff!

Captain Toad was mostly bought with an amazon voucher I got for Christmas. It cost £28 in total.

Sonic Advance 2 was found in a local shop.

DKC Returns was from the eShop. I had £5 credit from the recently ended deluxe promotion and the game was half price aswell.

X, Money Idol Exchanger and Marvelous were bought from a website called Nin-nin game someone on her linked to (mjmjr I think?). I'm not impressed with them so far - despite ordering in early january they only just posted it on the 28th, and the games will likely not arrive til mid february.

Kirby's Dream Land 2 was bought from a friend on the backloggery, from the US. Half the price is the postage.

The PS1 was bought so I could finish Grandia, and Kiss Pinball came with it for free. It was bought from eBay. Lost Kingdoms 2 was also an eBay purchase.

The 3 amiibos I paid for have been preordered since December. The other 2 were bought for me by a friend because I bought him a Villager and Marth before Christmas.

The NEC PC Engine Duo R and games was a completely unexpected $315 expenditure the last 2 days of the month.

So, there's a deal over at Dell where you can get Majora's Mask with a $25 eGift card and free shipping, so I bit. I'm going to use the card on Treasure Tracker once I get it. Well, that, or Bayonetta 2.
