Stuttering Flash Player

So everything on my brand new Core 2 Duo machine has been running great.
But tonight, I've been catching up on watching some videos I bookmarked.
The last two clips I've watched -- one on Vimeo and one on Hulu -- have been stuttering like mad even though they are fully buffered and my CPU utilization is way down.

Any ideas on what may be causing this and how to fix it?

Check your task manager. Make sure nothing is using up crazy resources. Also you have video drivers installed right? On Vista and up, the OS will still default to high color settings, whereas on XP, if you didn't have a video driver, you'd see the difference because it would change to 256.

Ok so it seems to have resolved itself overnight (for now)
But I was watching task manager at the time and the only thing using any CPU was Firefox and it wasn't much at all.
I'm running XP still.
I haven't updated the drivers though.
