Time for Gamecube...and it's been 10 years. No speculation
It's got Sonic Colors, so you won't be hearing from my attorney.

I am so ready to debate Gamecube game worthiness now. Eternal Darkness sucks!

Gamecube is simple:

1. Godzilla Destroy All Monsters
2. Wind Waker
3. Ikaruga
4. Mario Sunshine
5. Four Swords Adventures
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

After that Ikaruga slight and the previous Milestone Collection 2 slight, I think mjm is excluding shmups simply cause he's become an elite arcade hardware guy and wouldn't dream of stooping to shmuppage on the consoles anymore unless forced to.

More proof that the Milestone Collection 2 belongs on this list.

And SRSLY, can we ditch Muramasa? It is superior on two other systems, including one that hooks to the TV. There is zero reason to go back to the Wii version now, let alone in 10 years.

I'd move these out of the top 30:

Muramasa
Resident Evil 4
A Boy and His Blob
Metroid Other M (How the Hell did this get on the list??! There were lots of us arguing against it)
Skyward Sword

And move these honorable mentions in:

Bit.Trip.Saga Complete
Lost in Shadow
Red Steel 2
Ultimate Shooting Collection 2
Ghost Squad (though how is Gunblade NY/LA Machineguns not at least on the HM list...and Dead Space Extraction --- which is superior on the PS3---is? :x )

I was with you until you tried to suggest removing Skyward Sword (a fantastic zelda game which makes use of system exclusive features) for basically any of the games you suggested bringing it, which whilst solid, most definitely do not deserve skyward swords spot.

Ok, Skyward Sword can stay. I've not played it I just remember general disappointment at the waggle at release and in this thread.

Keep it, put Bit.Trip.Saga back into HM because it's better on the PC or on the 3DS anyway.

Not my personaly list, but it's a good list. The two things that caught me by surprise were (a) no mention of Boom Blox anywhere, which is a crying shame; (b) Metroid Other M making the top 30, although I guess it depends on what your purpose for the list is.

Actually, Other M usually is pretty fun when playing. It's just the story and a few odd moments that really stood out as unappealing... maybe those points actually increase the "must play" factor though, just to see where things went wrong? In 10 years the game won't be viewed as a masterpiece but probably will be worth playing or recommending to try.

No way someone is going to put in the GCN version of Ikaruga over the DC version; or Steam even.

Milestone 2 I personally like - but I think only one other person in this thread suggested it other than you, and while I like it...yes, I personally have (most) of the arcade versions but even if I didn't, again, i'd grab the DC version over these. If others feel differently i'll gladly add it - go recruit some more squeaky wheels.

Dead Space - i'm just going off discussions - it was mentioned a ton. I have no idea about other ports.

Muremasa - enough folks said they would still pick the Wii console option over the Vita on TV option, so again, just going with majority.

I'm sure that's true for you and the other 3 people that own those highly compatible Vita emulators. And... considering the immense popularity the Vita platform has... I'm confident that Muramasa will be known primarily as a Wii game 10 years from now anyway.

I'm also not sure if it's been pointed out that Milestone Shooting Collection has a 360 version with more modes. (It's called "Sakura Flamingo Archives".) I have no experience with either, but I'm guessing the Xbox version would be technically superior. It would be more likely to be found in an American's 360 J-shmup collection than an American's normal Wii collection IMO.
