sadly I'm more than an hour away from a TRU, just hoping my preorder from amazon holds though, ordered toon link, bowser, sonic, and mega man. heard bowser isn't really rare but I think the main one I want is mega man and sonic.

According to the emails I got, it seems that February 1 was just a placeholder date, and the release dates are spaced out between the 6th, 12th and 20th (give or take). Or at least they were supposed to be. It's always possible it'll be different for different stores. But, I don't know what's up with TRU. This isn't the first time I've heard of them releasing merchandise before the advertised release date.

Of the 6 new amiibo which released this week, I now have 5 (Rosalina, Lucario, Ike, Sheik and Bowser). Just need Toon Link now to have all of that batch. I have 3 of the other 5 amiibo in wave 3 preordered too - unfortunately Metaknight isnt one of them and he seems to be sold out everywhere already.

AJ if my Amazon preorder goes through, that'll leave me with an extra Toon Link -- I'll hang on to him unless you find one in the wild.

Is he a store exclusive over there as well? Metaknight went surprisingly fast. Our Best Buy over here had to put up signs in the amiibo section about a couple weeks ago pretty much saying that the ad in the paper was wrong and you couldn't actually pre-order them anymore.

I agree, it's getting a little nuts. It's pretty much to the point where if you don't pre-order the ones you want you're SOL, as the stores that are advertised as carrying them just... aren't getting any in. The only one's left around here are Mario, Kirby and Peach. For all the money they seem to be making with them, you'd think they'd produce more, or at least print a second batch or something (If by some chance they are doing that, than they're moving very slooooooooow).
